Somebody on here the other day, forget which thread made a post about Aiyawatt which was reasonably defensive but was actually quite a good argument - far better than the usual dross you get from Facebook and the KPFC Footsoldiers. One of them where you think maybe in some ways he isn't up to it and it was wrong to just automatically assume he was going to be.

 

But then something like this sponsor situation happens. It's one thing doing it once, it was flagged up many times as completely unacceptable and ended up being a complete embarrassment as the 'company' went under less than half way into the season. To then so brazenly do the same thing again. It's where for me the sympathy you could possibly have had just dies. This isn't somebody a bit clueless and out of their depth - this is somebody I know for a fact even I (and plenty of others on here btw this isn't some dickswing) could do better than, and it isn't because I'm some business expert, it's simply because I have enough care to not drag the clubs name through the mud like this lot are happy to.

 

We actively need these people out of the club. They are 100% bad for this club and nothing anybody says will change my mind.

If he knows he's not up to it and isn't doing anything to address it then I find it hard to have any sympathy. Problem is, there's a vast majority that'll still lick his ring piece. I doubt the guy even realises how poor of a job he's done.

 

You can have sympathy for how he's ended up in the role and if he wasn't up to it and put his hands up then fair play. But he's just watched over as staff have made awful decision after awful decision and done absolutely nothing about it. He should go down and one of the worst owners we've ever had. No owner, certainly in my life time, has overseen such a catastrophic drop.

It doesn't take an expert to judge how badly this has gone either. I think only Chansiri in the top two leagues is worse than this bloke and even with him you can make the case he hasn't quite overseen the same level of decline.

100%. It's a deeply concerning trend. Like ok, he's a relatively young person to be in a position of such power and has ended up there quicker than planned. That gets you some slack for making mistakes - frankly I don't think there's a single football club owner who's never made any mistake - but its about learning from them. He seems to refuse to learn and actively angry at the fans for asking him to do so?

 

Like the sponsorship thing is a disgrace, due diligence my arse, but even lower down the totem pole of errors - we've been massively overstretched on finances because of a wage budget well above what is affordable and what the squad would merit in the market... ok, recruitment mistakes happen but a) why has no-one carried the can for so many happening so quickly and b) why, with all that known, are we then throwing big money at dross like Oliver Skipp again?

 

it's the behaviour of a man who thinks accountability is an insult, a spoilt Nepo baby who never learned anything and refuses to start now.

I can accept mistakes and genuinely with the way he actually ended up in position of owner I could probably accept them even more so than from someone else, so perhaps there was a bit of credit in the bank if you can call it that. I think if we had become maybe a steady PL club (which is a decline from what he inherited) you would probably say fair enough.

 

But my god he's bad. There are errors you can forgive but it's the behaviours. I lost all faith in him when Rudkin and Whelan held their positions in May 2023 and knew what he was about. Knew we were basically nailed on for relegation and know that we're only going one way under him - unless we do get lucky with a manager. To an extent we did with Maresca, but he saw through it all and got an offer he couldn't really refuse.

 

It sounds extreme to call everything rubbish all the time but the more time passes the more I think the fan treatment / contempt was always there beneath the surface and they were largely being distracted from by a good team at the time. Even stuff like the gold on kits - was dismissed by the majority on here and only called out by a select few and while that isn't the ultimate issue at the minute I think the red flags have always been there.

 

Even now you have financial errors like the Coady signing (which numerous on here called as a poor value for money piece of business at the time) which not only do we look like we might fumble a rare bit of luck in terms of getting him gone, but there's talk at Rangers' end that we have a replacement lined up as well - Coady's performances have been poor but the biggest issue is the cost. We quite literally wouldn't have had any drop off if all of his minutes had gone to Nelson and we would have a lot more money in the bank. But when there is such a culture of unaccountability then don't be surprised when we replace the mistake in Coady with yet another mistake, probably eliminating all money saving. It's just such amateurish stuff and other clubs are getting smarter and smarter while we are at best, stagnant.

 

I listened to a podcast the other day about Manchester United and I realised that us and them have real parallels. They're on a greater scale but they make similar errors - one thing flagged up was how bad they have been at selling unwanted players. We are the most similar thing to them just with smaller numbers. I would imagine United have this same institutional culture of delusion that it's all just magically going to get better for them. I actually think Amorim himself sees that it isn't that straight forward and that he's having to make some tough decisions to get things in order such as sidelining Rashford / Garnacho etc... but ultimately they have fallen because they aren't a smart club and smaller clubs are outthinking them. It's why I don't think we've stopped falling - why can't clubs like Norwich, West Brom etc... pass us? If this is our mindset?

 

Aiyawatt has no excuse to be this bad. It's an attitude problem.

I've not defended King Power nor been critical but they have worn me down.

 

I like the new manager but I honestly feel for him walking into this mess of a football club.

 

We're week's behind other clubs in doing any business and preparing for the season ahead. They have taken an age to get him in when they knew full well that RVN was on his way.

 

He's come in and they have all gone off to Austria, you know just how slow the cogs turn at this football club that absolutely nothing will be happening on the transfer front until they return. I didn't even know we had an Austrian training camp lined up until last week.

 

Just wake the f*** up!

Think Top has too much influence on the club, despite being seemingly in-experienced.

 

Although am sure that many people were unsure on Vichai's credentials in running a multi-million pound football club when he first joined.

He's caught between relying on Rudkin for football knowledge and wanting to be the one who makes the decisions. 

 

There were times last season those in the club said Rudkin had no clue what was happening next because he was waiting for Top to make a call. 

 

When you think of the set ups the like of Southampton are installing, and we have an owner with the Football knowledge of a 13 year old FIFA player, and ****ing Rudkin. We are going to pay for this for years.

And he shown with a lot of his decisions how out his depth he was. Was the Birch who said go and get back that man you made sure was gone when you got here. Just before you tried to get rid of me.

Problem is that as fast as contracts expire and dead wood is released, they buy more overpaid dross to replace. Doing nothing is actually a step up.

Spot on ! But unfortunately that takes work from Dumb and Dumber upstairs 

Stale Club, stale players and no change for the better. I’ll be saving money this season to go on a nice holiday abroad instead of spending wasted money on the same old dross. If D and D can’t be bothered to make things better then neither can I. 
if season ticket holders can’t see this they never will

Depends who you are classing as dead wood, most of the ones that spring to mind did a job for us in this division last time so while as a fan, I really do not want to see players like Faes and Yannik again, why would we do what we needed to do (EG pay the difference in their contract for other clubs to take them)  instead of use them to try and get us back up.

 

It’s shit, but I think that’s what it comes down to.
