Since Rodgers left, people have highlighted a lack of joined up thinking with regards playing styles and the manager picks, but there is a thread between them.

We've gone for:

Dean Smith - solid Championship manager, poor results in the PL = Cheap

Enzo Maresca - Untested in England = Cheap

Steve Cooper - solid Championship manager, poor results in the PL = Cheap

RvN - Untested in England = Cheap

It seems there are four names mentioned in the running for us now.

Rohl - promising young manager, no Prem experience, in a desperate situation at Wednesday and wants to leave = Cheap (but has a psycho owner who makes life difficult for everyone)

Wilder - solid Championship manager, poor results in the PL = Cheap

Dyche - experienced proven track record in Premier League = Expensive

GON - No Championship experience, poor results in the PL = Super Cheap

The trajectory of the club is plain to see - we're skint.  All this PSR stuff is a smoke screen and I think our financial position is worse than we probably think.  Poor leadership has gotten us into the mess but I'm beginning to wonder that PSR might actually have rescued us.  Without it, who knows where we'd be now.

It’s not as simple as this though, we’re only ‘skint’ because we’ve hamstrung ourselves with massive expensive wages. We seem to value playing assets above all, but we’ve got so much overpaid shit in our team that we can’t get rid of, over the majority of our revenue…… so it’s just a completely flawed system that we’re deploying….. we’ve blown a hole in our ship, and are are now bucketing water out trying to stay afloat.

There are clubs with a lot less money than we have but operate a much more

efficient models.

I'd genuinely rather just give it to King if the other options are O'Neil or Wilder.

I actually like Wilder but he falls out with every board he works with, so it's have a 12 month max expiry date anyway.

O'Neil was basically in King's position a few years ago and has done nothing to make him a more inspiring choice.

I agree that I’d rather have King than Wilder or GON.

Made me more angry than I should have been on the trophy day.

In the family stand we got treated to Susan Whelan holding the trophy aloft.

I was in the Kop and it was Vichai for us. So yes, it definitely did happen.

That being said, if it ends up being either of those 3. The board have failed pretty spectacularly :D

You could not do a worse job if you tried.

Imagine taking over 4 years ago. FA Cup winners, one game off CL football. Best squad the club has ever had in alnost 150 years. Money coming in from all angles.

To this...

No manager, barely a senior coach, no kit, no sponsor, not even a hint of a new signing, you've been relegated twice, lost all your best players but are still skint. Bang average players on insane wages. No one wants to join. Zero sense of any momentum in any part of the club.

Genuinely, every single person in this forum would do better than that.

In many ways it's worse than Chansiri. At least Chansiri never inherited that situation to begin with. It's preposterous.

The owners and board are just so reactive, that's a big part of the problem. All the talk of planning and learning, even stemming from the last time we went down, was clearly just rhetoric.

They don't have a plan to recruit. They don't have a strategy that drives the club forward. They don't operate within our financial means, putting the club at serious risk. They do not have the ability to learn from mistakes or admit they even made them. Instead everything is a last minute panic decision according to which way the wind is blowing. The arrogance and contempt for the fans is clear for all to see. We are screwed with this regime, and it looks like the next Venkys to me.

None of them should be anywhere near the ground on a match day.

Agree with everything you've said. Though when Rudkin and Whelan kept their jobs after May 2023 was when I knew we were stuffed. The bit in bold to me was so abundantly obvious based on this. Just empty words.

I have been informed by on old friend (Lawyer) who still has some Director level contacts within LCFC, that the Owners are looking to either sell the club, or at the very least, identify and accept inward investment from additional third parties.

I am not the source of this and only wish to share what I was told at the weekend.  Please read into this what you will.

Again seems like they don't have the faintest idea what they are doing.

We need a full shake up of things, re-install some identity to the club, integrate those who actually know the club and have desire to make an impact on it. If Top can't be bothered or is being wrongly advised something HAS to happen!

Kingy is here in a coaching capacity, you have Huth who has a university degree in Sports Directorship, we let Morgan join Forest as a National Scout, why cant he be part of our set up?

The fact that Marti Cifuentes is looking to pay the compensation himself + the fact he’s been told we need to sell to buy and lastly the fact that he is allegedly gonna be paid less than what he was paid at qpr, says it all really. Could be in the mud financially. People say PSR prevents us from spending and whatnot, it would appear that we are simply just skint and it’s very little to do with PSR. Change is needed sooner rather than later man.

Realistically it'll be a bit of both. PSR has had us for a fair few years due to poor financial management. The numerous PSR legal cases and charges we've been fighting is the prime example

Agreed. But in this present moment it would appear it’s more the fact we’re skint. PSR we’ll be punished for at some point but that is all done now (assuming we don’t breach again in the future and haven’t breached 24/25). KP’s current struggles financially is only fuelling the belief that we genuinely are skint in this present moment. Going forward I think that’ll be more of an issue than PSR.

We haven’t run anywhere near to break even for a long time.

What’s happening now is a sign that King Power is either no longer willing or able to bankroll the club.

So perhaps fans are getting their wish - King Power are gearing for an exit.

Technically we’ve always been skint - an average yearly loss of £30 million a year doesn’t shout rude financial health does it!

The key difference is that before King Power were willing to underwrite that debt.

However, if they’re looking to sell the club, they can’t be reasonably expected to do that - for one, underwriting more debt means more club equity and in theory makes it harder for a third party to buy them out.

So that would suggest in terms of finances, the club will need to move towards a break even model, which will be a lot different to what many fans have become accustomed to.

get the rich kid out and his company out of the club

the lack of respect the club has shown to managers/players/fans the past 6 months has frankly been horrific

just over a month till the new season, and we dont have a manager, no sign of incoming/outgoings, no new kit, no shirt spons, no sign of what direction or communication from the club after relegation

they talk about the owners like respect, thats the biggest load of BS out, they do not give a single fVck about this club or the fans one single bit

Cue the people saying we should be grateful and we are entitled.
