kingfox Posted 15 January Posted 15 January With some of the strikers we’ve been linked with since the summer(Ioannidis, Hlozek, Musa, Esposito) and with what RVN has touched on about wanting to add physicality, surely Cannon gets replaced by someone of that profile 2

I think. Yup, so if we assume a 25% clause, (it's likely a bit higher if it's there), then that's why I took £1m off of £4m to get £3m. 1
Pliskin Posted 15 January Posted 15 January Great news that a bidding war has started. If we can get him and Okoli out, it will be ideal. Just need to **** off Edouard.
Wink84 Posted 15 January Posted 15 January By my rough estimate we have just under £6m (less depending on how the initial fee worked out with add ons etc) on the books for Cannon, so if we sell him for £10m that's £4m for amortisation which over a five year contract could be £20m to play with. 1

Which striker smashing it in an obscure league, will we pay massively over the odds for, arrive and look like they’ve not seen grass before? Edited 15 January by Lambert09 1
Richard Posted 15 January Posted 15 January Look at his match ratings from this season. He either scores (and aot of penalties too) or he's crap

He either scores (and aot of penalties too) or he's crap But he's been scoring in a very poor performing team. Clearly on a different level but the same thing has been levelled at Harlaand recently. The same answer applies though, doesn't matter if he's not the best on the eye, if he keeps scoring, job done. How many strikers look good but flatter to deceive because when push comes to shove, they can't put the ball into the back of the net! 2
FoxyPalace.com Posted 15 January Posted 15 January No point selling next year in the championship for us we need him.
FoxesWalk Posted 15 January Posted 15 January I don’t think he’s good enough for the prem, but we have to keep him now. There is a reason championship teams are scrambling to sign him, it’s very hard to get reliable goals in that league. We are nailed on going down, we should keep him. 1 1
bovril Posted 15 January Posted 15 January Had a feeling this thread might spring back into life at half nine tonight 2
GingerrrFox Posted 15 January Posted 15 January Selling Cannon is illogical at this point in the season, give him the opportunity to score goals for us and if he can’t do it and we go down we won’t be able to buy a new striker in the summer, but we know he can score goals at that level. If he can do it and we stay up we either see enough in him to give him the nod next season or we sell him on for even more profit come the summer off the back of a good season where he’s shown promise at both Stoke and half a season in the Prem. 1
justfoxes Posted 16 January Posted 16 January This would be Typical of John Rudkins incompetence by recalling him then selling him on when he are struggling to score and Tom Cannon could be the answer to our problems of being goal shy, give him a run out against Fulham don’t let him go when we desperately need someone who can score and he has been doing just that on loan ! Doesn't Rudkin Realise we can’t count on Jamie Vardy who at 38 is still a threat but not as much as a few seasons back and DAKA who’s far too lightweight and can’t cope in this league, but you can see Cannon has promise and not given a chance to shine by either Cooper or RVN let him loose on Fulham give him a chance what do we have to lose? 3 1

Corbee Posted 16 January Posted 16 January I see this morning that Everton are one of the clubs reported to be interested in signing him.
Tommy Fresh Posted 16 January Posted 16 January (edited) We'll sell him and Souttar at some point before next season starts, when any half decent well run club acknowledges how well they've both done this season and tries to actually use them (prior to Souttar getting injured) Edited 16 January by Tommy Fresh 2

OntarioFox Posted 16 January Posted 16 January Given the absolute state of our squad and lack of feasible options up front, if we sell Cannon I'm done. The cherry on top of appalling recruitment policy that has led us to where we are. I don't give a shit if these rumours of a "bust up with Vardy" are even true - he's the only striker on our books to hit double figures this season. And quite frankly we won't have any options next year if we go down - the thought of Daka being the main man as we rot away into second-tier also-rans is enough to make me not want to bother with my season ticket any more. 2
