No one in this thread still knows what’s going to happen.

The educated guesses are it’s gonna boil down to whether we have an £83m or £105m threshold on losses to whether we fail or not.

I just cannot see how it is anything but 83m. We got out of the last charges because we were not deemed to be a Premier League club so how on earth will we be measured against a threshold for the Premier League. We can hope but I just don't see it.

That is my guess as well.

There’s no doubt that for the 23/24 trading year (T) that there will indeed be a full £35 million allowance likewise T-2 will be deemed to be a full £35 but it’s that T-1 year is the issue .

Yeah Forest got 4 for £36m breach, rumour has it ours is £12m, so a 1/3, & round it down

Doesn’t work like that unfortunately. If we get a deduction expect at least 6. Forest self reported and were fully compliant with the PL which was why it was 4.

Tanner’s latest article. Spends large parts highlighting the issues with our poor transfer windows and finishes it questioning why fans are chanting Rudkin out as it’s a “team effort” on the transfer front. This is a similar line pushed out previously regarding Rudkin, including by the Foxes Trust.

If I was cynical I’d say Jon is playing the “not my fault” card. It is Jon, it’s all your fault.

Big gulp when you read that last summer was one of our largest net spends, with guys like Skipp and Okoli added to the roster, even if we do stay up and neither progress (and contribute as little as they are now), can we really claim victimisation ?

The Premier league have 14 days to examine the accounts submitted “by” 31st December and consider charges, so that is why either 13th Jan or 14th Jan are the dates being spouted in the media.

Rudkin gets the brunt of it because he literally sits next to the owner when he attends matches. The fans would like a complete overhaul but the DOF will get more scrutiny.

Of course it's a team effort, but he's the silly **** who hires the team lol

He's the one who has got every chief scout wrong since Macia

He's the one who signs off the scouts we hire

He's the one who signs off the analysts we hire

He's the one who has watched several scouts and analysts get poached because we don't promote from within.

He's the leader, as in any business the buck stops with him responsibility wise.

In addition he holds a role at other clubs which has the expressed responsibility for signings, wages, contracts etc.

If the club were willing to be somewhat more willing in communication, the fans might have clear ideas on his role but instead they are comparing his role to what other clubs do hence the responsibility for bad transfers is on him.

That’s my nice way of putting it

Rudkin gets the brunt of it because he is the director with ultimate responsibility. In any business, football or not, if the department is failing (which it is), the Director is first to answer - they get paid the most.

Its now 4 years of frustrating and downright infuriating mistakes. This summers business is impacting us this season but whats the bet it will imapct us in 2/3 years too.

I think the clubs who were charged in January knew their fate in March then the appeals sorted out in April (Everton didn't appeal as they were safe from relegation).

Why it is useful not to bring this upon yoirself, really.

4 years? Adrian Silva was 2017. It’s nearly 8, 9 if you want to include the shambolic summer 2016 window.

There have been a few strange articles. I wouldn't say this is as bad as that fluff piece at the start of the season, but it certainly misses the point....it talks about 4/5 years of failures with transfers and managers with differing styles and opinions on previous managers signings. But then suggests its a team effort. My take would be there is one constant in all that and it's this current board and him in particular, their maybe other failings beneath him but he is meant to oversee all of this.

From what little I know, the issue those that want him gone is the players ( maybe just a group, not clear on the numbers) like him, largely because he sorts them out with big contracts and promotional deals etc. I've heard one member of the senior team say he's being used as the scapegoat. But I just go back to the above and think if it's not him then who the hell is it that's making these poor decisions for almost 5 years?

Fair point. Walsh left just before the 2016 summer window and we went on the most random, ridiculously poor transfer spree. If its a team effort, who are we blaming for that.

I'm surprised there was nothing in last night's gossip/newspapers about what could happen today. Usually by 11pm the articles are written, so to not hear anything is good?

Last year they announced the charges against Everton and Forest on 15 January, which would make sense if they had 14 days to look at the accounts submitted by the 31st.

Apparently in previous years David Ornstein has broken the news on the weekend before it is officially announced. Nothing from him - or anybody else - so far...

In the same way when things go poorly on the pitch for the team, there are calls for the managers head. Ultimately he’s responsible for the performance of his team. Likewise, Rudkin is leading the offfield team, and they are not performing, hence calls for his head.
