My god it is beyond frustrating how many times we get into good positions and pass it backwards. There are yards of free space in front of you yet we decide to go backwards to no avail. It makes zero sense playing vardy if you’re not going to play the ball quickly. 

 

Its also baffles me how much risk we take in our own half, whether that be controlling a cross taking a touch and finding a pass to trying to dribble out of the box. However as soon as we cross the half way line we turn to shit.

We're not brave enough in games where we could be. 

 

Equalising today and then deciding not to continue attacking is just a clear sign we don't have enough belief or bravery within us. Fine to do the hard work and get back into the game, but not enough PL quality to go on to win a game.

We lack a maverick, but then Football does in general.  Look at Grealish at Villa, ran the show now he’s had it coached out of him. 
Same everywhere, no one takes a risk because they aren’t allowed by coaches who have turned them into robots.

Ayew and Mav are really limited, winks and soumare just go with the safe pass even though Winks has it in him to make these passes to break the lines we are not seeing it.

 

BEK and Facundo are the only players who have the ability to make things happen.

 

Plus both full backs are so weak going forward as well... Castange wasn't a great defender but he was always a threat going forward.

We had a decent game plan. We nullified them. Did well to get back in the game. Justin then makes a mess. We then could not get into game again. We are not good enough and we need to add to the squad asap to have any chance of staying up. The longer we leave it the less likely we are to stay up.

All very true .... its like we have forgot how to win or scared of winning .... to many sideways or backwards passes when we are in good positions... lost the ability to run at teams and make them work

In the position we're in were going to be in a lot of games when we're the inferior side. Despite this we seem to never want to counter. How many times does the keeper have the chance to bowl it out quickly after a corner but decides not to.

We seem incapable of hybrid play, its either let the other team have the ball and get it up the pitch quickly, which our fans hate. 

Or slow build up from the back, but when we do this, we over do it, we never consider as said above roll it out to start a counter, and have a habit of passing back just as we moving up the pitch.

The risk we need to take is throw some money at this and attempt to stay in the league. 
 

I’d be tempted to try and sign some of the following:

 

Defenders -   Chillwell, Regulion or Tierney, Aarons, Tomiyasu or Skriniar,

 

Midfield I think is okay-ish.

 

Forward - please fetch Cucho Hernandez

 

Then RVN needs to have a word with Madrid about loaning Endrick.

Would love us to bring in those calibre of players but would they be interested? Seems very unlikely unless we go for it from a financial point of view to Match their existing wages.

I fully agree with you. 
 

It’s a case of dragging ourselves out of a situation. 
 

Lots of problems can be solved can be solved by throwing money at stuff.

Most on here will agree that part of the reason we have got ourselves into this mess is because we have offered over-generous contracts to players over the last few years.  And now we are in an impossible situation where we desperately need a few quality additions but in order to entice them we will have to offer them big money.  Can't see how we get out of this cycle.

 

Possibly the only way is, as has been suggested, is to put our faith into talented youth, accept the likelihood of relegation, but then will be in a better position to start rebuilding the club again in the way we did under Vichai & Pearson.  I'm not encouraged by the way we've neglected our academy players, though - many must see no clear upwards path towards the first team; we've already lost Nyoni, Monga may be next.
