Two stops were mandatory this weekend. It's completely bizarre they didn't stop both cars under the safety car.

 

The only slightly logical reasons I can think of is that they didn't want to pit both because double stacking would've been unfair on Norris, and they didn't want to pit one and not the other because of papaya nonsense.

Max will do a Senna/ Schumacher and has that grit which i don't see in the other two at the moment.

I want Lando to win but I can't help but think something will go wrong and Max will still come through.

Indeed. Without that disqualification in Vegas, Lando would already be World Champion. 

 

That thought must haunt him in the dead of night after everything that has happened, given now he has to fight for his title against both his team-mate and Verstappen in the pressure cooker of a deciding race.

Ah was it? Missed that, did think why the **** wouldn’t they try the hards at that point  

 

think you’re probably right with that, but even then the double stack would’ve been a lot better for both as they should’ve just matched max

Odds are really stacked in Landos favour, Piastri would need a miracle and I can’t see them being stupid enough to not have him be a bit of a rear gunner. If only this was at a proper track it could be spicy

A lot like Qatar, it'll probably be more tense in terms of the championship than exciting in terms of racing.

 

I'd love to see a scenario like this in the last few laps: P1 Max, P2 Piastri, P3 Russell, P4 Norris. Does Oscar get told to slow down and let Russell and Norris by to let Lando win the championship? Surely he would oblige. But imagine the scenes if he didn't!

My theory is we’ll see a bit of a repeat of 2016 where max leads landos behind but he’s actively pushing him into the pack

I guess you read that scenario in the BBC article as well. Would be v interesting, wonder if Netflix have placed an order on this happening
