If I was alves I’d be leaving by now- how he doesn’t get minutes in this game is mind boggling

Maybe he just isn’t quite good enough. People were saying the same about Sammy Braybrooke and he isn’t even getting any minutes at Dundee.

I know there'll be a meltdown that he hasn't played the kids but I think this is spot on.

Play our strongest team and build some confidence, form and momentum.

I've got no issue with this.

Only if they win the game

Very disappointing when they've made a song and dance about youth players in the week this week, Monga and Alves (who even featured on the preview graphic this morning),

Club doesn't deserve to moan when the likes of Nyoni and probably Monga get out at the earliest opportunity, they're shown zero trust and zero chances to even see the bench against 2nd tier mid table fodder.

Why does everyone think Alves is that good? I mean, if he was that good, he surely would have broken through by now?

On the other hand, if we don't think he's going to be good enough why are we keeping him and giving him half-hearted encouragement by including him in first team training and occasionally on the bench?  Surely that means that he's rated within the club.?  It all seems contradictory, just doesn't make sense.

Absolutely desperate for a win aren't we. Lose the luxury of being able to blood youngsters when the first team is this shit.

Agree. It's a shame as it's this kind of game in the past that we've had that luxury

Agreed but would have been nice to see Alves and/or Monga on the bench. Seems strange he's talked about Monga all week and then when he has an opportunity to include him in the squad he doesn't.

Ruud needs a win from anywhere Not surprised he's gone strong. Plenty of time to rest people secondhalf if we've got control of the game.

With 5subs though I would have thought he'd have put a few juniors on the Bench.

Still the win is whats important.

Strongest 11 makes zero sense, if this outfit loses there confidence is going to be the lowest it has been all season…get a win and it’s a win against QPR, wouldn’t exactly be much to get excited about.

Justin not being taught a lesson and being dropped and giving hamza a chance at RB is bizarre, zero youth in the squad says a lot about us as a whole outfit and operation, what exactly is there to be excited at as a Leicester fan?

Like this very much, taking it seriously. Wins breed confidence and it would be great to go into Palace with a morale boosting win with the main XI.

I’m happy with that tbh if we can get a solid victory and performance.

It’s imperative it goes well though because it could be a confidence knocker if it’s a struggle.

Come on boys positive attacking mindset from the off.

Said this under Cooper and will say it again, no manager will risk youth in this scenario. This is a manager who played his full strength against our b team in the carabao and also in Europa League just to preserve his rep.

They also have to be good enough. I agree that a couple should be on the bench, but it's probably the weakest our academy has been in ages.

But playing the kids and getting a tonking would be better somehow?

More to lose than gain in this match. Get against a lower team means nothing or lose against a lower team and it rocks us. Would rather have seen 2 of the usual 11, the 7 from the bench and 2 youth tbh.

Be ridiculous if we lose this.

Massive game midweek as well. Hopefully no injuries

Exactly. We need to get the first team back to experiencing winning games of football again, and unfortunately that means no time for blooding youngsters - shame for the likes of Alves because I think there could have been room for him somewhere
