Looked like a beast.  Will be transformative at RB :beer::beer:

lol F*** me. It's better than being really negative but might be a bit soon to judge! He made a good interception, then a poor decision with the ball before doing well to win it back. The most balanced view would be there was some good and some bad.

Ruud was also going mental at him for not being ready to come on as a sub too.

Perhaps the three drinking emoji may hint at the fact I've had a few and was being somewhat tongue in cheek brother?

This is FT; judging a player after a couple of mins is about par for the course. And half the posters post things that make me think they're pissed lol:ph34r:

Haha fair enough.  Perhaps my parody wasn't quite obvious enough

I know it's sort of soon to make any conclusion about him, and I'm hoping he's a difference maker (because it certainly doesn't look like there'll be any others), but I don't really understand why we've signed him.

I can't figure out which of the following makes the most sense:

a) Ruud didn't want him

In which case, why did we get him? Why did he agree to sign?

b) Ruud wanted him, but he's being kept out of the side by JJ.

In which case, why did we sign him? Did we go out looking for a third choice RB or did we just not scout properly? If we were worried about depth and cash is tight, why not keep Hamza around? Ricardo could be back before the end of February. Could we really not find anybody else who would deputy for JJ and take him out of the firing line for a couple of games?

c) Ruud wanted him, but he's taking time to bed him in and bring him up to speed on football in the Prem.

In which case, why did we sign him now? We don't have time! Couldn't we have spent that money on an immediate improvement elsewhere in the squad? 2m + wages is surely enough to loan a half decent player from somewhere in Europe.

Again, nothing against the lad - I just can't really see what we were going for here.

My guess is that RVN was concerned at the prospect of JJ or VK getting injured and having little in the way of cover.

Hes also a cheap addition for the championship next season.

We definitely needed cover/competition.

There's no way we could have continued on with just Justin and Kristiansen as full back options.

Why bring him on to play left back. Whole point of signing him was to compete at RB. Perfect opportunity to play him.

Hard to tell from that cameo.

A right footed player playing at left back never looks natural or comfortable playing out from the back.

He did some things well but he also made some poor decisions.

He wasn't aggressive enough for my liking.

Especially when the other fullback has often played left back.
