Let's say that they did.

Does the rest of the world and the future deserve what he's doing and will do to them?

Good point. The Prime Ministers and Presidents of the second Spanish Republic were totally rubbish. It doesn't mean they needed forty years of Franco.

Good win for Labour in the by-election.

People will see Reform coming 3rd and think Scotland has the same Reform issues as England, now.  I disagree.

It needs to be said that the constituency in question includes some of Scotland's staunchest brit nationalist areas - places where they paint the kerbstones red white and blue and smash the green bits of traffic lights, and are unusually fond of flute playing and marching,  so probably the best hunting ground for Reform in the whole of Scotland.

It's not a normal constituency.

The reaction to Farage from the majority up here remains revulsion.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if, having reinstated Trump on the old Twitter, Musk banned him from X.

He'd be fuming.

Is Musk still tweeting or has he passed out for the night?

I always thought that relationship would implode at some point. They are like 2 primary kids, entertaining but worrying that actual adults voted for those two brats.

The world has turned into such an odd place

Who would even replace Badenoch?

There's scraping the barrel with having her leading them anyway. Who could even be next?

Assume the US administration has now had enough time to set the scene and find sufficient evidence to return Abrego to El Salvador after the trial.

The lack of reality and certainty with all things reported at present is somewhat wearing.

Five leaders of far-right group the Proud Boys, who were convicted in connection to the 6 January, 2021 Capitol riot, have sued the US government for $100 million (£74m), claiming that their rights were violated during their prosecution.

The five were convicted of plotting and taking part in the riot to overturn President Donald Trump's loss in the 2020 election. Trump pardoned or commuted their sentences earlier this year.

The lawsuit, filed in Florida on Friday, claims FBI agents and prosecutors were motivated by personal biases when prosecuting their cases.

They argue their constitutional rights were trampled on "to punish and oppress political allies" of Trump.

The lawsuit was filed by Henry "Enrique" Tarrio, Ethan Nordean, Joseph Biggs, Zachary Rehl and Dominic Pezzola.

Tarrio was found guilty of plotting the 2021 attack on the US Capitol, which happened as lawmakers were certifying former President Joe Biden's 2020 election victory. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison, the longest out of the five.

He was formally convicted of seditious conspiracy, a rarely used charge of planning to overthrow the government, and multiple other counts.

The other four leaders faced similar charges, and were also sentenced to time behind bars.

Their convictions were overturned by Trump, who issued approximately 1,500 pardons of people involved in the Capitol riot in January, on the day of his inauguration.

The audacity is rather amazing, I'll hand it to them on that.

The Nazi did this with the Brownshirts until they realised they needed to be a bit more subtle and 'normal' to get elected so killed off the Brownshirts leaders in the Night of the Long Knives and replaced him with Himmler / Goring if I remember.

I'm waiting to see how far they can sink and move towards a watered down Nazism by the end of his term.

Surprised that it took so long for Dawn French to remove that appalling video. Shameful on the back of other celebrities making similar mistakes. Not sure if this apology is going to be enough. M&S will be deciding if they want their brand associated with her.

Dreading what's going to be said by some of the Glastonbury performers.
