A stonking s/o fee instead in addition to a fat championship salary of 60k.  In brownhills territory

Could see us giving him a 3 year contract, him being garbage, and just sitting on the bench, while claiming those wages for the next 3 seasons… we need to avoid these buys can’t be doing that anymore.

If we were seriously looking at him then a one year deal with a fairly average to low base salary but quite high incentives would be the obvious way to go. Option of second and third year. Give him the chance to rebuild his career but low outlay from us if it's not working, for him he gets the chance to show he's still go it and then either stay or go depending on the offers he gets.

Literally the only circumstance we should sign him.

Don't want to jump to conclusions.

If we have a proper chat with him, explain we need to rebuild and instill a winning mentality and culture, and can he help us to do that with his experience, then if he wants that kind of role I could live with a year long contract with option to extend.

Isn't that why we signed Coady.... that went well

Behind the scenes the club were very happy with Coady. He just didn't perform on the pitch and didn't have a year long contract.

Can't believe he's only 32, seems to have been around for decades.

Could have been a brilliant player but for injuries but so could the much younger James Justin and we seen how far he fell away from peak.
