The English football pyramid will collapse in a couple of years like a sand castle, like Jenga. This was the plan of the last 10 years and it will happen 100%. They just want a Superleague with all the big teams where the attendances will be full of celebrities, influencers and OnlyFans "models".

The announcement of the initial plan of a Superleague was made to just test the waters. The big teams which opposed to the initial plan were also involved and both UEFA and FIFA are part of it.

Sport is gone. The only way to stop them is a massive boycott by every single normal fan this season.

This could be an all timer season in the championship.

Ipswich, Southampton, Birmingham, ourselves, Norwich, Wrexham, Sheffield United, Coventry. Could make an argument for any of them to push to be champions this year.

Other clubs doing some sensible business. Qpr notably.

then you have established clubs that only need a few pieces to compete (west brim, boro)

it’s really not a good season to have a points deduction as I think it’s going to be a very close run contest.

my early prediction would be

1. Birmingham

2. Southampton

3. Ipswich

4. Sheffield U

5. Leicester (that’s if we get the last month right)

6. Coventry

7. Norwich

8. stoke

9.Qpr

10. West brom

11. Boro

12. Wrexham (don’t think they will get the recruitment right, but if they do you’d raise them)

13. Watford

14. Swansea

15. Preston

16. Bristol city

18. Portsmouth

19. Derby

20. Oxford

21. Blackburn

22. Charlton

23. Hull

24. Sheffield Wednesday

Genuinely wouldn't surprise me if they'd clocked off a bit because of who we have on the first day. I think even we can't **** that up.

In before Mick McCarthy.

Just kidding man. I couldn't really care less, if you are in the know or not. It will or won't happen and the rest is just what it is.

I really don't think the two big League One sides will make the impact some do. Birmingham at least have recent experience at this level but the step up to Champo is pretty big. It's easy to assume with "the right signings" but the truth is you've always got 3 Prem teams, plus maybe 2 on parachute payments who know how to yo yo.

There'll also be a lot of people baying for Wrexham blood. Everyone I know wants to see them given a kicking.

Wasn’t an issue for Ipswich and on the surface Birmingham are making far bigger moves than they were.  Hard to say until you see the teams kick off but I’d be delighted if I was one of their fans

Has any reason been given for this?

Has someone at the club been on to the mods/owner of the forum?

I don't see Wrexham doing much at all. Reality will finally kick them. They will do well to avoid relegation, which I think they will just.

Birmingham for the playoffs I reckon, but won't threaten the top 3 or 4 teams at the top.

Ipswich proves it can be done though, but I just can't see it this year from either of those two.

Nope. It will (and is currently) morphing into another branch of the entertainment industry where things are staged albeit via the use of financial selection, rather than audition and scripts..

Have you got any tin foil? Enough to make a hat perhaps?

It's not total tin foil hat stuff though is it?

The club world cup that's on at the minute is indicative of it.  An invitation only tournament with massive riches awarded.  If it's a commercial success,  which at present seems unlikely given only Dazn picked it up, but if it does get traction it then grows.  Ultimately the clubs and players go wherever the money is.  They're testing the waters.

Maybe it becomes the new LIV golf...

Hopefully not.

The club world cup is interesting indeed.  It means that any group of clubs can set up a tournament with massive prizes to artificially create income for the club and give then an edge for the upcoming season.

It's organised by FIFA, not a select group of clubs, is it not?

Can see Birmingham making the top 2, finally everyone pulling in the same direction. Exactly the opposite to our current circus

Some seemed overly confident we’d be there around the playoffs, not saying it won’t happen but after the likely sell off of some of our assets we’re more than likely a hell of a lot weaker than perhaps 4 or 5 teams. Birmingham, Coventry, Sheffield United, Southampton, Ipswich and Wrexham will have momentum at the very least.

We’re in the dark about most things and who knows how competitive that team will be. But hopefully some on here can see as other teams build strong squads looking better prepared as the weeks go on that their expectations are brought a few notches. It’s not beyond the realms that the club magically pull something out of their ass and for instance get Rohl in and keep Bilal, then I’d sit up and think maybe we’re going for it. As the weeks drag on and we’re not doing anything and see teams like Brum make these signings we haven’t got a chance, they’re on the up and have momentum - we’ve still go Faes and Daka.

I really don't appreciate how much of my time you wasted working out why you'd left Millwall out and who you'd put in instead....
