The annoying thing is that the decision is going to paper over some of the cracks.

Yeah maybe not the best wording.

Thought his movement in the first half created good space for others and had the defenders a bit uncomfortable at times is what I was thinking of

He was crap

We lacked a bit of cutting edge, got into some good positions but really didn't make the most of it.  It would have been interesting to see how Fatawa and Mads on the opposite side would have done

Ruud had an opportunity today to lift the club. I know some will now state what different would Monga make, but why put him on the bench?

Id say behind Bilal he is our best player, we’re done, we weren't going to win, and we aren’t going to win the FA cup, so today was a pointless game but to try and gain a bit of confidence. I’d rather have seen us play Monga for half an hour and see what he can do, because he could actually offer something this season.

But, we won’t and he won’t be here next season because he will clear off to play in Man City’s academy instead.

We are just ****ing shit, in every sense of the word.

If Monga struggled, who would it lift? Chicken egg situation

Justin was tucked in so narrow in the second half he was playing more as a RCB, leaving Garnacho acres of space or expecting the RW to deal with him instead (or not in the case of their first goal). It must be a tactical instruction from the manager.

Yeah, that was evident, but Garnacho had the beating of him, he needed support

I feel like a huge problem we have is that as soon as we get the ball up the pitch it comes straight back. No hold up or anything. No wonder the defence looks so shot sometimes, as soon as they get it up the pitch it comes back immediately. No respite.

I wonder if this is why Ayew is kept on as he sometimes can hold it up?

Well we are the only ones who let it even get to that, everyone else just beat them outright we couldn’t do that in the 90 and for sure would have only got bartered in extra time, stop making excuses for this shower of shit club the only thing we are victims of is our own stupidity.

Go and support a winning team then and somebody you can really enjoy watching. You obviously have no time for our club.

Fergie time WTF is he on about?

Yep he didn’t take too kindly to that comment. I don’t blame him.

If anything he's one of the reasons for it. The amount of times we're in a position to play a ball into midfield or literally anywhere up the pitch and he decides to just lazily pass it back to the defenders drives me nuts

So dumb. You can be passionate and deeply frustrated. Happy clappers do nothing at all for our club

I thought aside from a 5 minute cameo Winks was dreadful, no strength, kept giving the ball away…

has to be N’didi and Soumaré in the middle going forwards

Tbh with Wilf we looked better, I thought Thomas looked better than VK or Woyo. Okoli looked decent. I'd play 3 at the back with Okoli, we might be able to defend then.

Winks terrible, woyo looks scared, Justin is Justin, do we not have a young right back we can try?

Even Roy Keane made reference to big clubs getting major decisions in their favour. And tonight absolutely proved it.

Cant just be incompetence. Something very wrong.

It says something when Wilf comes back and is more or less our best player straight the way. Happy to give him the captaincy to be honest.

It isn't about making excuses it is about expecting an official to enforce the rules of the game. Yes united probably would have won in extra time but it doesn't take away from the fact that that was one of the worst decisions I've seen at this level for some time. One of the clearest offsides you could ever see and it wasn't given.
