Having watched a few championship games recently, this team/squad don’t possess the physicality and intensity to do well in that league,  they’d need to play a technical system like enzo did last time.

Under a transfer embargo I'd like to see the following:

                            Stolz

Riccy P         Nelson      Okoli       Justin

                    Skipp     Winks

Fatawu              Alves                 Mavs

                           Daka

Minimum play offs if not top 2.

Sales of Hermansen, Faes, Soumare and possibly BEK. Sign ELL.

Stolarczyk

Woyo/Ricardo/JJ Okoli Vestegaard VK/Thomas
Winks Ndidi/Skipp
Fatawu BEK Mavididi
Latte-Lath

That XI does damage in the Championship. It makes the Tom Cannon transfer even stranger now.

If Vestergaard or Okoli are picked over Nelson, I think I'm done (and I'm a glutton for punishment!)

The key will be doing a mental reset, just as it was last time, as well as finding that 20+goal a season striker. Still plenty of decent players in this team but the balance of the side is abysmal, weak mentalities, poorly coached etc.

Do you think? I can't see us able to offload Ayew, Skipp, BDR, Vesty, Mavididi, JJ, Winks or Daka. I think Faes, Mads and Soumaré will probably go.

Why would you off load winks or mavididi? They were crucial in our promotion last season

Has Vardy got another season in him? He still looks so dangerous at times. No chance anyone who goes down will do a Luton. Luton have invested to build a nice stadium for L1 or L2. More likely to emulate Sheff Utd or Burnley. Just hope there isn't another team who will emulate Leeds next year

Two equally bad sides who dropped last season currently sit 2nd and 3rd. Let's be honest the gap is huge and there are no longer numerous teams enjoying parachute payments down there.

Probably line up something like:

Stolarcyk

Kristiensen

Vestergaard

Okoli

Coulibali

Winks

Skipp

Ndidi

Mavididi

(New striker)

Fatawu

With the right managerial appointment that's at least a top 4 team for me. Where we finish may depend on who gets bought from the likes of Ipswich and Southampton, plus would be easier if Burnley won the playoffs.

I'm not saying we should, the other poster said that we would have a whole new team, I was just saying that even if we wanted to I think we'd struggle to shift those mentioned, mostly because of the stupid contracts that we give out

Players in our squads championship capabilities:

Too good for the championship (winners) : Bilal, fatawu, mads

promotion: Souttar, vestergard, mavididi, winks, Ricardo, wilf

top 6:  faes, vardy (off the bench), kristiansen, Justin, soumare, ayew, daka

mid table to bottom: coady, skipp, bdr,

unknown : Jakob, alves, Nelson, okoli ( I just can’t judge where he’d be yet)

Not surprising we are struggling when we only have 3 (4 with facundo) players that I can say are too good for the championship.

compare that to wolves and you’ll see our problem

This squad will come straight back up especially with Souttar, Alves, Nelson coming back into the fold. Think we have enough talent that we can sell Hermansen and a couple others and keep BEK/Fatawu, all focus needs to be on signing centre halves and a striker who will allow us to compete back in the prem when we do get back up

This team is comfortably top 10 in the championship but that says more about the gulf in class between the leagues.

Best case scenario is we have a few years mediocrity in that league, rebuild and refinance.

Sell Hermansen (think we only get around the 20-25m mark though), Stolaryczyk to be first choice and an experienced backup to come in.

Can see Ricardo, Justin and Kristiansen leaving. I'm also not convinced at all on Coulibaly, so a starting full back in each side is needed.

Pray we start with Souttar and Nelson next season, Vestergaard as backup as we won't be able to shift him. Hopefully we can move on Faes, Coady and Okoli.

Winks and Skipp to start as our midfield pair, Ndidi and Soumare to go, Braybrooke and two newbies as backup (one holding, one a mobile goal threat).

Fatawu, Alves, Mavididi and McAteer as wing options. Get rid of Ayew and BDCR by any means necessary. Bring in Poku from posh.

BEK to go, hopefully just on loan to the continent. A starting creative attacking midfielder will be needed.

Vardy to retire, Daka to be sold. Evans and Monga to join the first team squad with 2 strikers coming in.

People are catastrophising this too much. I get it, we're terrible, but that team should still comfortably finish in the top 6 in the championship. I wouldn't bet on us finishing top 2 with it. I think Southampton and Ipswich are better equipped for the championship than us.

Wilf won't be here. Will el khannous tho? Book value 15 mill. Guess we'd want 25 +. Has be done enough for someone to pay this?

That squad would be top 6 in the Championship with a shit manager.

Decent one would have us challenging for the automatics. People are worrying too much :D

Full squad of good/very good Championship players so it would do very well.

Obviously the vast majority aren’t PL standard unfortunately but the gap between the two leagues is huge at the moment.
