We had become complacent by then and a game against Watford isn't going to stir the passion.

Notts F are still in the honeymoon period. Most of their fans have never witnessed success.

Exactly. It’s their equivalent of our 15/16 season, a completely unexpected level of success. Our ground was electric for every game that season, maybe with Bournemouth at home being an exception.

L1 declining has massively impacted things imo, now we are 100% reliant on SK1.

There's an old chant from back in the day goes like this...

"Sing when you're winning, you only sing when you're winning, sing when you're wiiiiiiiining, you only sing when you're winning..."

True of our fans the same as most others fans in the country I'd imagine...

There's no passion atm because we're dog shit to watch.

But even earlier this season away at Southampton, the 'limbs' were insane when Ayew scored the winner in the 98th minute.

And Preston away last season was incredible and so were many of the home and away atmosphere's during the PL win (remember Palace away?)

And then go back to our play-off/league cup semi's and final's in the 90's for some of the best atmosphere's I've ever seen.

Of course we're a football city. We're just in a complete fvcking mess right now.

You saying this has reminded me of this:

Bit before my time but my god our end seems absolutely terrific.

I don't think we're up to much these days but every now and then we are very good. Preston should give some inspiration. We have a pretty high ceiling.

I really wish we would bin our "banter" songbook. Our own is generally fine. Will probably change when Vardy goes and the equally tedious stuff in his direction stops.

The clappers are pointless. Sad how they are part of the club.

The Vardy “banter” is embarrassing. Stuff like “he’s won more than you”.

Also I think there are a few excuses being made.

Some of the best football I’ve ever seen us play was in that 19/20 season, but our support was crap.

Yep, the KP was practically empty towards the end of the season.

I'm as vocal as they come at games but I've reached the point of not actually being able to get behind this current bunch of complete willy pullers.

The thought of cheering for people like Faes makes me want to vomit in my own mouth.

It's the 1st time I've had the entire concept of support questioned in my mind. I've always been someone who get's behind them during games but is very willing to dig them out after.

Not anymore, too much self respect.

Reports are that Forest’s atmospheres have dropped right off

It has

My mate who goes was saying so too

I was expecting big things when they had Arsenal at home the other week, but the atmosphere was crap. I put it down to nerves which would be understandable but it doesn’t seem like it’s improved since

Appreciate this has been discussed in the stadium atmosphere thread a little bit but I guess it’s a question for our more experienced fan on here, have our fans just always been a bit soft and half hearted compared to the rest?

Especially compared to some of our rivals. Why are clappers universally accepted by our fanbase when they’d have been refused at other clubs our size? Why do we have so many sitters at away games? Why is there a focus on the opposition fans instead of our own team? We just don’t feel like a club that’s got a real raw passion to it in any way. We score a goal away from home (obviously not this season 😅) and there are never any genuine limbs or real passion celebrating a goal. I know we’ve had some half decent atmospheres over the years but let’s be honest there are levels to it.

Just wondered, even going back to Filbert street, have we always just been a bit half hearted and soft? Not a football city?

Remember David Pleat saying when he was manager it was hard being a manager of a football club in a Rugby City

I remember playing Watford at home in 2019 I think this game was our 7th win in a row or something to cement our top 4 place early on in the season and the place was a morgue. Compare that to them lot up the road … it’s just odd with our fans.

It’s still fresh and new for Florist at the minute, comparable (almost) with our title season after the great escape. Every home game was the equal of their home games at least. Remember the Richter scale equaliser? We have nothing to get us off our seats at the minute and football has been sterilised by Puel, Rodgers and Maresca even during success, the atmosphere at 4th place Chelsea a case in point.

It's simple really when we are doing well and I don't mean winning everything just playing well and for the Badge it carries to the atmosphere of the crowd, makes people want to go.

At present we are treading water and sinking, from the owner down to the players and staff in the club, nothings changed since we got relegated last time,  we have a manager who isn't upto it, players who don't care, and relentless shit results on the pitch, but people still go because we love the club its our City.

The issue is people are just going now, there is no exciting matches, signings, or anything to get remotely excited about, so we all just sit there expecting the next half arsed performance and loss.

The only way KP take note is if there are more away supporters at a home match than us, my advice for anyone who truly cares and doesn't want there weekends ruined, and too have a face like Thunder every week is, don't go, let this shit, crap, wasteful season end, the quicker it does the quicker we can get to a level where we might stand a chance, but that's not guaranteed in the Championship either at the rate we are sinking, with zero interest or communication from the owner, my only hope is he decides to either 1. Make changes to improve, or 2. If his heart ain't in it anymore Sell up, we ss fans 100% deserve better not because we are entitled, because we have seen and experienced success, we have seen what better is.

Typical premier league club noiser away from home. Why im not sure? I guess away days you spend a few hours having a few beers... visiting the ale houses, whilst home games for many. Your coming straight from home...

disagree about the limbs and away support, i was at Villa away in the home end and was brilliant celebrations when we scored, lad i was with commented on how good our fans were considering our position in the table. Preston Game last season was unbelievable, could give more examples

Our home support is absolutely crap though, one of the worst in the league - doesn't help L1/k1 don't add to the atmosphere anymore.

Gives me goosebumps watching that back. What a day out in London that was.

We had the whole of the main stand at Selherst Park that night. I think the attendance was about 18k and there must have been 50% Leicester.

I could post dozens of other examples of amazing ends like that during that era.

Such good times

A manager that had an identity

Players that were grafters and relatable (those nights in Jongleurs 🤣)

Fans that embraced it all

I think the 'focus on opposition fans not our own club' in the OP is true, and a really bad development in modern English fandom. Sloshed lads in front of me at the godforsaken London stadium singing "Millwall" at WHU fans all night is a good example. Like I know we're crap but surely you draw the line at singing the name of another club, especially that club.

Remember listening to it on the radio and the atmosphere really came through. It was my first full season supporting us so maybe it was youthful bias but I feel that at that time we were well known in England for excellent team spirit and great support home and away.
