Leicesterpool Posted 3 April 2025 Posted 3 April 2025 Rosienor might be tempted by Southampton due to the fact it's down south and closer to home for him. Rohl might be tempted by Leicester, as he might see us bigger club, despite the troubles of the club the training ground might help with the appeal... yes I know it didn't work for Potter. Potter must have had his reasons.

The rumours are though that Southampton are also interested in Liam Rosenior, so our best bet if we were in contact with DR is Southampton stalling to make a decision. I’d be very surprised if Rosenior even considers us or saints. Be happy with him though. 3

Yeah I can't see it either, he's going for Europe with Strasbourg, with that said though, the Prem is a hell of an incentive especially if you go to one of the favourites.

More money at the end of day, either us or Southampton can offer much better wage then Strasbourg even if you make your europe. We have seen with european coaches who have left a club in europe whose playing the europa league to manage in the championship because of more money and more recognition. I mean Nuno Santos left FC Porto to manage Wolves in the championship. Edited 3 April 2025 by Leicesterpool

I think we will be mid table, there’s too much noise around the club for really promising managers to come to us sadly.
Phil Mitchell Posted 3 April 2025 Posted 3 April 2025 (edited) Go all out for Rohl. As much as a shambles this club is right now, we are still a considerably more attractive proposition than Wednesday with that madman at the helm. Edited 3 April 2025 by Phil Mitchell 1
Leicesterpool Posted 3 April 2025 Posted 3 April 2025 (edited) Interesting enough if Dean Smith hadn't of managed us in that interim spell back in 2023, he probably wouldn't have been a bad shout. His record at Brentford and Villa was good in the championship. Norwich kind of expected more from him, I think they were at least in play offs but were in a bad run of form. Deano would have been a good manager to come in and bring a good feel good factor manager to come in after relegation. Sadly for Deano he only be remembered for manager in charge when Leicester went down. I can imagine he will never forgive James Maddison Edited 3 April 2025 by Leicesterpool
winteriscoming Posted 3 April 2025 Posted 3 April 2025 I can’t see it being Rohl or Roseinor. I hope it is one of them. If not I’d be happy with Urs Fischer Brian Priske Quique Sanchez Flores I don’t want Dyche or Martin. 1

Mickyblueeyes Posted 3 April 2025 Posted 3 April 2025 I read this and thought, he has got a lot of Pearson about him. Building connections, concentrating on the basics firsts. Building a culture. Developing external relationships. https://learning.coachesvoice.com/cv/liam-rosenior-hull-city/
Mike Oxlong Posted 3 April 2025 Posted 3 April 2025 What we really need is a combination of our last two managers - Ruud van Cooper 2
HankMarvin Posted 3 April 2025 Posted 3 April 2025 Leicester City target Championship manager should Ruud van Nistelrooy leave the club this summer Sheffield Wednesday boss Danny Rohl is a possible target for relegation-threatened Leicester should Ruud van Nistelrooy leave in the summer. Leicester are second from bottom in the Premier League, 12 points adrift of safety with eight games remaining, and look destined for an immediate return to the Championship. Van Nistelrooy signed until June 2027 when he replaced Steve Cooper last November but Leicester have declined under the Dutchman, losing 14 of their past 15 league fixtures. Asked about his future last month, Van Nistelrooy said: ‘I signed a contract for two more years after this one. I was aware when I arrived what the challenge was and how difficult it could be. I was aware of that and committed to that future.’ But should he and Leicester part ways, Mail Sport understands Rohl would be prominent in the club’s thoughts. The German has done a fine job at Wednesday, steering them to safety last season in his first senior role. This term, the 35-year-old has kept the Owls well clear of trouble and in with an outside chance of the play-offs.

whoareyaaa Posted 4 April 2025 Posted 4 April 2025 Would Dyche be a Pearson type manager ? If so I think we should just go for him he has plenty of experience, probably wouldn't be afraid to play youth players either ? 3

He is also extremely tactically flexible, he changes formation frequently. Only concern I’d have is his history with youth. Sheffield Wednesday have one of the oldest teams in the division, while he’s fielded some of the oldest starting 11’s in the Championship this season. I just looked and their average age of transfers since he joined is under 25 so perhaps the average age is driven up by players already there? Gassama, Cadamateri, Beadle, Charles and other Charles are all young and have played a lot as well as some others. I don’t know if it’s just doing best with what he has been given rather than a preference. Also Sheff Weds don’t have an academy that has produced anyone of note for decades. The one they did they let go! Anyway, surely you have conversations with prospective managers about their philosophy and gauge their view on things like youth minutes. Then again we probably don’t!

Why? Nuno and Bielsa had no experience in England and they did fine in the championship. Quique Sanchez Flores has when he was at Watford.

Thanks for that transfer info mate. Their squad very much looks a mixed bag tbf, seeing Rohl rely on numerous players in their 30’s was my only concern really. Numerous managers out there who have a better track records when it comes to youth. But Rohl certainly has a lot going for him.
accessory Posted 4 April 2025 Posted 4 April 2025 Postecoglu wouldn't even look at us. There are far better options for him than the Championship, plus we need a younger, hungrier manager anyway. 2
