Biggest concern about Dyche for me is our most dangerous players are our wingers and I don't think he'd be the one best suited to utilise this.

Good news. It's Danny Rohl. Just got to agree how to get him away from his current mad employer. All agreed with him apparently.

I think that's a pretty big sticking point and was always going to be the problem. They seem to be holding firm for the compensation

I think there was a majority happy with RVN at the time...

Positivity will last about 5 games if he starts poorly.

I think Rohl, like RVN was, is favoured because there is still a lot unknown about him and as fans, we fill in those unknowns with a lot of hope.

I'd prefer someone who has a history of getting promoted, as I think if we dwell in the Championship for more than 1 or 2 seasons, then we may be stuck down here for a years.

I will support him though and hope he has the impact Maresca did, as his unknowns were filled with genuine success.

Rohl and RVN are very different. RVN had done nothing in this Country other than beat us as Man U caretaker. Rohl has had over 18 months (which doesn’t sound a lot but think about manager tenures now) in the league we will be in. He also had experience as an assistant.

In terms of wanting someone who’s been promoted, that’d be erm, Chris Wilder, Sean Dyche, David Wagner (of those available) or people like Daniel Farke or Scott Parker. All of those names people are rejecting.

Also success is relative. Which was the better achievement, Maresca getting us promoted which the squad we had or Rohl going into the mess that Wednesday are, on 6 points in November and cut adrift and certain to go down, and getting them on 50+ points and staying up? I’d say Rohl’s achievement that season was better than Maresca and Russell Martin who got Southampton up.

Really?

Doesn’t Dyche prefer a 442, with direct, counter attacking play that utilises quick wide players / crosses into the box.

If you’re a winger - you’re not going to be unhappy at that sort of tactical setup.

So we currently have three potential scenarios, depending on who you choose to believe: 1) It’s all been agreed with Dyche, he’s bringing Michael Keane with him, and it will be announced soon; 2) We’ve reached an agreement with Danny Rohl and are trying to find a way of getting him out of his contract; or 3) Neither of the above are true and we haven’t actually begun serious negotiations with anyone yet.

Of these, I very much prefer 2) but I suspect it’s 3).

Of course there is also option 4 too…

4.) Both 1 and 2 are true to a degree, with the club having spoken to multiple candidates and agreed outline terms / plans with those that made a shortlist before making a final decision.

McNeil, Kightly, Arfield, Trippier, Boyd, Brady, Lennon all enjoyed good spells and stats under Dyche.

No news until 1st July

This on the Fosse Way made me piss myself. It’s Ruud’s birthday on the 1st, we are blatantly going to wish him a happy birthday and then sack him.

Of those, only Boyd could really be described as a flair-style winger though. The others are largely functional wingers whose strength was crossing and tracking back. Our wingers can do all that, but are capable of far more, while excelling more as wide forwards than cut in rather than hug-the-touchline players. Albrighton would have been excellent under Dyche, for example. Mahrez, not so much.

Need to get it right, like Rudkin did with Enzo
Hiring without alignment is just expensive chaos.
We need leadership with clarity, conviction, and the courage to change course.
When you bring in a builder—not just a manager—you don’t just fix performance. You ignite momentum.
Also  hiring without fixing underlying issues just multiplies problems. Right leadership changes everything.

we are again in the hands of Rudkin.

McNeil was a winger we’ll certainly was for Everton i thought he was there best player most games

Fair enough, McNeil I may have missed there. He's still better as a hug-the-line winger rather than wide forward though.

Yes, that’s very plausible. And if it IS 4), you’d have to assume the preferred choice is Rohl  (why bother even pursuing him if our number one target is Dyche, who is a free agent and could start tomorrow?). In which case we’re once again in the position of having a preferred choice who we’d have to pay compensation for and a back-up option who is available for free. It makes you wonder whether they’ve learned a lesson from last summer….

I can't see it being Rohl, unless he walks.  Sensible thing for us is an out of work manager.

Dyche ticks a lot of boxes if your looking to recruit.  Managed in both Championship and the Prem, experienced Championship run in races as well as prem relegation battles.  Promotions from the Championship, dealt with monetary issues and lack of signings.  Dealt with points deductions.  Looks and sounds like he takes no crap.

He makes a team competitive.  I just think he might be the right guy for now to restart and rebuild.

Personally as I said at the start of the year I would have gone all out for Rosenior, but that ain't happening
