As for our current finances, that picture will change considerably from 1 July. After that, we will be in a position to pay compensation to obtain a manager if necessary. Ok thats a fair point mate. Perhaps there is no clear pattern that informs what I think they will do next. I’m so underwelmed by everything the club does recently that I am expect more of the same disappointment. I was never behind the decisions of cooper, smith or Ruud and I do think they were all obvious unimaginative appointments at the time. We showed imagination with Maresca and it paid off. We may have got lucky but I think we all could see how forward thinking it was. I know it’s easy to state this in hindsight but I think many feel the same. I don’t believe we will pay for the right candidate, like we should do with Rhol (IMO) like we should have also done with Corberan and Rosenior. (Also IMO) I think it will be freeby and it will be one of the merry go round of obvious unimaginative appointments we and the rest of the football world expect. There are about 11,000 football managers in the world, (employed) there are only about 100 of them that would turn us down. There must be more out there than unemployed managers with recent failure's on their CV that our fan base can behind and dream of progression. I hope they prove me wrong, and whoever they get I will back them. 5

Sankey93 Posted 18 June 2025 Posted 18 June 2025 I really don’t want dyche it’s all lined up for Danny Rohl but it’s Leicester city so we won’t even go for him. There’s not even a small link/rumours about managers im starting to get worried now is ruud actually staying and having a new complete back room staff 😂

winteriscoming Posted 18 June 2025 Posted 18 June 2025 We could do a lot better than Dyche but saying that we could also do a lot worse. It’s a typical easy readily available manager to go for if it’s true. I’m still hopeful it’s someone else. Last summer it seemed to be certain to be Potter.

Anybody who believes that it's a done deal has the opportunity to fill their boots.

Cue 3 or pages of 'I don't want Dyche' and 'the board are clueless ' based on a profile pic change and your betting odds comment🤣 then there'll be multiple posts of Managers Names that hardly anyone knows but would get you a great points total in scrabble. We have been such a soft touch for so long, having someone in charge that will turn us into a right bunch of nasty hard bastards I can cope with. Is that what he did to Everton? Not so sure. 1

Popular Post Joe90 Posted 18 June 2025 Popular Post Posted 18 June 2025 (edited) All you crazy fools thinking we are to good for Shaun dyche 🤣🤣🤣! No actually he is probably to good for us! I honestly think we need exactly someone like him to sort our shower of shit Edited 18 June 2025 by Joe90 6 1
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 18 June 2025 Posted 18 June 2025 I think whoever we get in we just have to get behind them and hope it's the right appointment and not another Cooper / RVN disaster class
fox_favourite Posted 18 June 2025 Posted 18 June 2025 I bet the board will see Dyche as a safe option. Knows the division, can get teams up, can work in difficult environments, doesn't take much poo and will be a safe pair of hands. He won't be afraid of clearing egos out. Uninspiring, but safe and maybe that's what we need. It won't be pretty but affective. I'm not a massive fan, but it maybe the right sort of man we need right now. But I can imagine he wont be cheap, he'll demand a decent wage

The thing you have to remember is , and I might sound a bit entitled here, but for a club like us getting promoted isn't necessarily the tricky bit. Staying up these days is, and dyche is the man who has a track record of doing both. The track record of not playing youth is concerning, but hopefully he wont have a choice

Ah well, at least it's not dull at Leicester City with nothing to talk about.

Yes, but I don't think we are going to make as many changes as people think. We are terrible at offloading players, and I can't see us getting rid of Winks, Vestergaard, Soumare, Faes, etc. They're all going to be on high wages, and if we can't offload them, we can't have them just sitting on the bench or in Seagrave when we know 3/4 of those at least are good for Championship level. 3 hours ago, kingfox said: People bang on about continuity and it’s a fair point, but I don’t really see anyone calling for another possession dominant style of manager. If we want continuity, I thoroughly expect to see someone like Carrick walking through the door. Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if we somehow end up with him to be honest. 3 hours ago, kingfox said: Whatever manager comes in, whether it’s Dyche, Rohl or someone else, I think we as fans thoroughly expect to see a revamp in the midfield and striker areas. Striker area, I don't think we have any choice. Midfield will depend on the futures of Winks and Ndidi. We should revamp it, but will we...? I'm not confident we have the cash right now with PSR and points deductions swirling. 3 hours ago, kingfox said: If it is to be Dyche, I think he has a set of defenders that are well accustomed to his style, with the hope we move a couple on too. The only area of concern if Dyche came in, is how he’d view our wingers. Would you mind sharing which defenders would be well accustomed to his style? Obviously not Vestergaard or Faes. Coady barely played under him at Everton I think. Nelson's Oxford experience should help him, and could see him being Tarkowski-esque. Maybe Okoli...? My concern is that our defenders generally are not good at defending, which we've all moaned about for ages! The wingers bit is the biggest red flag for me, along with our need to focus on youth more (I just can't see Monga playing much under him). Assuming Mads and El Khanouss leave this summer (I hope not on the latter, but...) then our wingers are our best assets. We need to make sure they flourish—for our chances of promotion, for potential resale value, and frankly for our own enjoyment again as fans. We can't bring in a manager who doesn't get the best out of our assets. Maybe Dyche could, but I just can't see it.
Nolucklcfc Posted 18 June 2025 Posted 18 June 2025 You’d think ruud would have more self respect to walk away to be honest.
Silebyfox_89 Posted 18 June 2025 Posted 18 June 2025 With the youth movement in the squad now it would be great to grab Southgate. Would command respect, track record with youth, good contacts in the game. Questions over going back to a club role but gotta be a better option than Dyche.

Craig Posted 18 June 2025 Posted 18 June 2025 Yeah, whilst I think he is utterly useless, so are the people who awarded a contract with no contingency should things get as bad as they did/have. He was clearly lied to about a number of things (as were other managers) and I can't blame him at all for wanting what he is due.
