At his absolute peak he was probably one of the best ball winners in Europe under Puel and Rodgers. After the title when we were at our strongest 2019-2021 and he played a big part in that. Tough in the tackle and an absolute athlete. Unlike a lot of players in this current squad. He's earned his dough.

Was unreal when he signed and up until 2021 ish. Football then moved on quite a bit, and now you can’t have a player at the base of the midfield who can’t pass very well or receive it on the turn etc as everyone just presses you and you end up losing it. See the importance of Caceido, Rodri nowadays

Yet another example of us holding on to a player for 2-3 years too long. We saw the best of him, and then saw him decline in form, fitness, and resale value.

Not according to their website. Think it was suggested after their Europa League exit but he’s still there.

Good move for him we still need a decent No6 though I don't think Soumaré although can be amazing is consistent enough and Winks and Skipp are to lightweight and slow of this role we could try Aluko in the role but will need time to bed in.

He wasn't sold when we got relegated and was very important to us, so it's a good thing he stayed. We then extended his contract when he could have walked away.

 

Now we're selling him for £9m which otherwise would be £0. This literally is us getting better at trading and selling.

You need to be a physical beast to make up for a midfield containing James Maddison and Youri Tielemans and he undoubtedly was.
