Boils my p*ss that he, Coady, Soumare and Vestergaard are all gonna still be here on a combined 250k+ p/w come the end of August.

Any other club wouldn’t have serious problems moving them on whether if he a transfer or loan.

Maybe I’m deluded but so confident that Soumare is not here come the end of August.

He seems to have admirers in Europe and if our previous Championship season is anything to go by, he doesn’t fancy the second tier, which is ironic considering it’s his level.

The club don't hold them in the same low regard as some fans evidently, or they would be out on loan with us paying half their wages.  It can be done, someone decided we are better with them around, even if they are not starting.

I keep getting my hopes up.

Whoever does it after a day of inactivity, without any news, should be getting an instant ban

Yes, you are definitely deluded. :D

The only way he leaves will be on loan with us paying 90% of his wages. No one is going to pay for him and get close to the wages we are paying.

At this stage, I just want to see players like him gone.

Genuine question, if the other club paid half his wages and a small loan fee. Would you take it?

Unfortunately and as Ric will doubtless testify, some turds are just to big  to flush.

There is where we are.

I can’t think of any club now or historically this bad at moving players on.

Yes.

Apologies to those desparate to see a link to Faes leaving. :(

he’s possibly on quite high wages and hasn’t justified it, to any interested club… he’s not obliged to take a lesser contract and once a free agent might be able to command the wage he’s on right now due to clubs not needing to pay us a fee.

we are the fools. We have created this situation yet again.

Only thing with Faes is he has 2 years left on his deal. I'm not sure he particularly enjoys it here given, he's probably aware he's not popular with the fans and there's often been talk of moves away. Does he really want 2 more years of this?

Surely he can't be on that much, he came from abroad and has had a big pay cut since being relegated. Can't be on far north of £40/50k a week now surely. Which yes is still insane but surely a top division club somewhere would get close to that and make him think about it.

It won’t be his wages as to why he’s here, it will be because he’s shit. Still does a job for us this season but I’d rather he didn’t.

what is this ‘big’ pay cut? It really depends on how either of us determine the  definition of ‘big’, really. I don’t think it’s more than 20%, though.  But to start with he’s a starting CB of the nation that was ranked number 1 in the world not so long back.. around the time we signed him  also young with ‘room to develop ( ha!) when we signed him , so his starting wage when joining us would have been quite high.

40% was the rumoured cut.

I'm obviously in the minority but actually rate Faes other than his brain fart each game. I think every team in the championship would be happy to sign him. A rotation of Faes, Okoki, Nelson & Souttar is decent
