So PL has jurisdiction over a season we were in the championship but which PSR rules apply? Because you're allowed much higher losses in the PL than you are in the Championship

So back in January the PL said all clubs had passed PSR and yet now they're charging us for failing 23/24 anyhow?

They couldn’t charge us at that time because there was still a dispute regarding 22/23.

Someone explain it to me like i'm 7.

Alright, imagine you have a piggy bank, and your parents say you can only spend a certain amount of money from it each year. If you spend too much, they might say, "Hey, you need to be more careful with your money!".

Leicester City, a football team, had rules about how much money they could spend while they were in the Premier League. But now, the Premier League says they spent too much and didn’t follow the rules properly.

So, they might have to face a punishment, like losing points in their games. Leicester City doesn’t agree and wants to argue their case.

It’s a bit like if you spent too much from your piggy bank and your parents said you had to do extra chores to make up for it! 🏆

To use that example, I'd say spending all the money in my piggy bank is fine, but I'm not allowed to borrow money from the creepy neighbour as he has a sketchy past :D

So seems like the FPL taking us to tribunal failed for 22/23 - shows we were in the right.

But looks like the tribunal says there may be doubt we can use the same 'loophole' again for 23-24. Hopefully we get some more info on this.

Even if we don't get punished, the uncertainty this creates is hugely damaging.

We missed out on a number of player the previous summer because of this, so the risk is it happens again.

Must be the only team not to spend any money and get more charges than anyone else

Yep, because we definitely aren’t spending money when we have the entire squad on European competition wages are we.

This is no suprise, they have been after our blood as we embarrsed them in the last round....

we will start next season with a points deduction simple as. No point even fighting it imo.

Anyway never mind us what about Man City ?

What about Man City and Chelsea get away with murder

Man City have over 100 charges hanging over them.

Chelsea are currently taking the piss but I recon it will catch up with them.

Spent beyond means in the championship, forever bending the rules to get an advantage.

Or in the shit and looking at excuses to get out.

Changes must be made

I assume this is invoking the new rule change they bought in since we exposed the loop hole? PL and EFL can impose eachothers sanctions essentially.

If I haven't got that wrong then they didn't waste anytime, they are desperate to get us. In honesty its quite tiresome to keep up with it all.

Whilst the intent of PSR I agree with, its design is broken and anti competitive. That said the rules are the rules, people in the club, who we can be sure we know are responsible, have to take responsibility and take their mis management on the chin. The annoying thing is we all know we will draw this out with court battles and loop holes and no one in the club will be held to account and we won't change our ways.

I mean the money we are reportedly paying winks and coady should be enough to say we most likely breached, why in earth we gave contracts out like that....

Will have to put the ladies team out in the championship next season once we sell everyone in the men’s squads to make up for it

Wonder how this will hamstring us for next season, especially if Ruud walks which I think he will do after this news. &nbsp

if we have an impending points deduction awaiting us for next season, will make it challenging to attract a new manager of note, last season we ended up with Cooper due to the risk of a points deduction, if we have similar this summer the pool of managers may be smaller than we hoped.

if this does happen means even more that we have to have a project type manager, as we have to start again.

Also surely Rudkin and Whelan cannot survive this yet again…….

Yes, our argument that the PL did not have jurisdiction for 2022/23 was upheld. Media reports seem to suggest that matter is now closed, but until recently there were concerns that the EFL could go after us for that period. I'd like some clarity on that.

The question now is, will our next legal challenge/appeal be based on challenging the notion that the EFL and PL can enact these new rules retrospectively for a period covering when the rules were different?

Or will we just accept it?
