It's just Chineese whispers. The more it's whispered the more it becomes factual. Seems to be just something the journo's have latched onto when they need something to say.

The match analyst. I thought it was a bit odd but said with conviction

Is the match analyst at the game or in the studio?

At the game. Waiting for them to head back and will grab his name

Ok. It sounds like he may be repeating gossip he’s heard in the media suite at the KP this afternoon, in which case I’d expect other journalists to also be reporting it later today/tomorrow…

Jason Bourne was on the radio a short while ago saying that there are rumours of a deduction of ‘up to 10 points’. It doesn’t mean it’s going to happen, but it appears this is the growing view among the journos who follow us…

Whatever the case, this needs to be sorted out ASAP. Its ridiculous that it could get to the stage whereby we are in April or whenever and 5/6/7/8 points clear of the relegation places and then they decide to put in whatever deduction they choose.

Granted we are expecting the deduction anyway, but this really should have been sorted out ages ago.

Surely the longer goes on, the less likely a larger punishment will stick? Do they plan to wait until we cannot react in the window? Until we cannot escape relegation?

Spot on. It is one thing he on the edge of the play offs and pegged back but not so great to be sucked into the heart of a relegation battle.

You can pick any number you like and say, "up to x points".

Nobody knows jack sh*t. Why has there been no decision yet? Maybe because once again, we have had their pants down over a technicality on jurisdiction, or the fact they are trying to charge us retrospectively? Maybe we have played the "we were relegated due to their late action against everton" card as a defence/grounds to claim compensation.

I suspect that the delay is because the pl/efl have had to go back to their lawyers to check that they will not leave themselves open to a counter claim for damages

Who says that we are expecting a points deduction? It's just the theme picked up by journo's that's being repeated amongst themselves because they don't know anymore than the rest of us.

Keiran Maguire has already suggested that an attempt to apply laws retrospectivily won't bear legal scrutiny.

People don't have a clue.

Which makes it even funnier. This is the first of its kind, probably the only of its kind. The leagues have had so much egg on their face they'll be making this iron clad.

Its why I can't see it having too high a deduction

Up to 10 points can mean 0 points. Non comment.

I wish we recruited on the pitch the way we picked our legal team - one area we actually appear competent.

Exactly, its the sort of thing you say knowing you can't be wrong whatever we get.

Whats funny is that certain fans of other clubs froth at the mouth in anger, questioning when our points deduction will be implemented, when some of them couldnt even tell you the specifics of why there should be a deduction.

We're skint - there is no window for us.

Wouldn't be suprised if the club new last week.........better to roll all the news out in one, Manager Sacking,PSR breach and the Chairman being here in one go.......then Top can clear off and play Polo again with a few things off his mind and leave Rudkin to deal with the fallout.

It's not that we are skint. The problem is the silly contracts and wages that have been dished out meaning we are hamstrung with PSR. About sums it up that our top earner Winks is not playing as he's thrown his toys out of the pram.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the deduction will be applied when it looks like it'll have close to little effect on our season.  That way they can apply it, we'll accept it, there'll be no pissing about with legal side of things.  They save face and don't have to go through a presumably lengthy legal process that might not end up in their favour and neither do we.

Deductions should 100% be applied before the season starts.
