Video just gone up on Talksport about this Europa League final but right at the end he talks about us!

In short he says its advantageous to accept the full 12 points NOW for this season although he's not sure it'll be able to be wrapped up in time. He also says we WON'T get 12 points next season, maximum 8 (in his opinion).

Was that Stefan Borson?

Maguire's podcast is released tomorrow, will check that out to see if he's still saying punishment for 23/24 has to apply this season.

Yeah apologies, forgot to mention who 😅.

Worth corroborating with what Maguire says because it could well be different. However, take anything said with a pinch because both have been in unequivocal agreement before and still been wrong🤣

We didn’t vote for FFP in 2013 as we were still in the Championship yet were hamstrung by Short Term Cost Control rules that explicitly restricted our spending power after winning the league. I (and a few AI apps) can’t find any publicly available information that we’ve ever voted in favour of rules like these.

Based on previous rule changes which have been publically discussed as in LCFC voting in favour of the teams in Europe getting bigger share of international income I can't believe this was implemented without agreement of the majority of clubs including those 'like us'.

Borson is very knowledgeable on these matters. I follow him on X and he’s very informative.

Now I’m reading we might be able to pay 6m fine and get the points this season

Isn’t the £6m the cost of taking a 12 point deduction this season (ie 2 places )

assuming it was possible to do that which it isn’t because the season will be over and they couldn’t allow precedent to be set of a points deduction in may. (Or later)

Isn't this just what Stefan Borson is suggesting we do? Why wouldn't we have done this months ago when relegation was nailed on?

Next season:

”Premier League and EFL charge Leicester with overspending on PSR by £6m”

”Also in the news, Chelsea sell Frank Lampard’s shed back to themselves for £127m”

This will drag on until just after the end of the transfer window so that we can't appoint a manager or players because of the uncertainty.

As it did last summer. People seem to have forgotten that.

The timing of this is interesting…..  why now? Why the week of the final game of the season? The cynic in me suggests that they’ve done this at this stage to avoid the points being deducted this season…….

Presumably it wasn’t the PL that decided the timing, but the arbitration panel that was deciding on the PL’s appeal.

sorry if its been posted but my word thats some losses

wonder if theyll ever get the book thrown at them

A great example of why PSR doesn't work and was designed to protect them.

How can they have messed up so badly and still not be in any trouble? How is that "sustainable"?

I know nothing about business, but the concept of LCFC being a subsidiary business of King Power seems a bit strange.

Let´s say LCFC makes a profit of 10 M excluding sponsorship, but add on 10 M in KP sponsorship to make a profit of 20 M, which finally goes back to KP. So that 10 M is just going round and round, to and from KP. To my mind it might as well be 50 pence or 50 M

My understanding is that LCFC is not a subsidiary of King Power, the club is wholly owned by Top and his family who also separately own KP.

I can see it now....

We get the deduction this season, go bottom, celebrate it as a win. Then Man City are deducted 100 points, go bottom and Ipswich stay up.

I'd be fine with that. Can't be mad when our owners/ leaders cocked up badly. We deserve what is coming based on the rules. Whether you like the PSR rules or not.

Would be kind of annoying if man city were in the championship with us though

Did they really change the rules just to charge us? Doesn't set a great precedent for football if this is what they can do, even if we are in the wrong, too.

Probably, the whole thing is run on emotions.
