Let’s be honest, we know the guy loves having possession, it’s impossible to say what he would’ve done. 
 

But I think what we know for sure, is that he would’ve produced certain elements to give us a better chance of survival, better counters definitely being one. 
 

In terms of pressing, just like counter attacks, we’ve gone the opposite way regarding that trait too. We ranked 3rd in the Championship for aggressive pressing at 11.1, this season in the Prem we rank 17th at 13.6

 

I just hope we get back on the right trends. If it is to be Russell, he has been fully on board with the aggressive pressing trend, it’s the other elements like counter attacks that I’m sceptical about, will he use the likes of Fatawu and Mavididi correctly 🤷‍♂️

I've said a thousand times (and I'll die on this hill) that the problem is less 'Enzoball' and the fact that everybody wanted to park the bus against us.

 

All of that "messing around at the back" is bait, it's trying to draw the opposition out and on to you so that you can beat the press and attack quickly behind them.

It’s a massive what if but what no one can deny is that Enzo is and continues to be an exceptional coach. His work here with guys like Choudhury and others shows that. 
 

No chance in hell does a coach of that calibre deal with some of the stupidity we’ve had this year. Standards alone would’ve been levels better.

If you are one of those refusing to give him a chance, own your choice if he does well.

then frankly he wont get much quarter 

 

cos you can tip tap crap all you like but youve got to have more strings to your bow than just that

I really don't want him

 

I do think he will probably do well for us in the Championship

 

Just means I need to wait until if he get us promoted lol

as said already most LCFC will give him a chance, like all managers who come through the door, RM can talk a good game etc all he likes, hes got to get the players performing and getting results

and when he style doesnt work, have a Plan B/C/D , as at Southampton etc he never seemed to have a different strategy hes not flexiable or adaptive 

its all fits atm,

Basically relying that one of the most stubborn men in football has learnt lessons from his disaster this season.

 

He will be fine next year but long term it's a stupid hire.

I actually think he could do well. He’s got a group of players used to this way of playing now instead of picking it up from scratch and hopefully he’s learnt from his mistakes on his break. 

But it could very easily go the other way and turn sour very quickly.
