The ironic thing is that Russell Martin will eventually leave Scotland with an enhanced reputation having defeated such titanic opposition as Ross County and Dundee. The same route as Gerrard.

It's an easy ride for Martin, goes up there he's guaranteed at least one cup if it's the scottish cup, scottish league cup... the title at a push. Soon as English job comes calling he'll be back down in a shot.

Rangers is a massive club and could easily attract a big name... what don't help is they play in a poor league. No top coach wants to manage in the Scottish league visiting Livingston, Dundee, Inverness, Kilmarnock. Even trying to convince decent players from europe to come can be an issue.

Change everything guys, Ancelloti back as odds on favourite at Rangers (4/7), Martin dropped to 5/4. All the media in Scotland, saying Ancelloti is in talks with Rangers.

So basically what you are trying to say is.....No one actually knows anything!

Rangers is a great move for Martin. No doubt he would have improved us as a club but I just couldn't watch another season of Enzoball on steroids.
It's about time we break away from this obsession with being Man City's B team and actually play the way that built the foundation for our success, high pressing, counter attacking, fast paced football.

I watch football to be entertained, long term results obviously matter, but I'd much rather win and be entertained than be bored to sleep and pick up 3 points.

... given how things have been, what about being bored to sleep and picking up 0 points?:frantics:

I don’t think the club will pull the trigger on RvN until they have someone concrete lined up, who in their eyes, is a better fit. Both scenarios a concern!

In a weird way, leaving the uncertainly over the manager could help us shift some of the players we don’t want around. If I’m Winks or Vestergaard I’m telling my agent to get me out asap with Ruud still there.

Looks Martin is close to becoming Rangers manager

Yeah we all said that Martin was the "easy option", but the truly easiest option for the owner would to just do nothing and have a short boy summer playing horsies.

Exactly. The only issue for him is backlash from the supporters which we all know he doesn't care about.

Betfair only offering 1/12 for Russell. Sky Sports reporting it's pretty much a done deal with "advanced talks".

Great, perhaps I was looking at an old odds list. I thought it strange, as I posted Martin being odds on only yesterday

We are consistently used as a tool my agents to move players on to better deals. Happened quite a few times last summer. Wonder if the same has happened here with Martin.

I mean, I’m glad it did and we are not left with him but imagine being used to get a better move for Russell ****ing Martin.

From one Ex Man U scumbag, to another Ex Man U scumbag - that would be the straw that broke the camels back for sure!

Is Ruud a scumbag? Seems a fairly nice chap to me. His crime is being a crap manager.
