Norwich have Stolarczyk bid rejected

Norwich are understood to have had a bid rejected by Leicester City for Jakub Stolarczyk.

The Polish goalkeeper is a player Norwich like and one they have been tracking for a while. 

He is understood to be one of a number of options they are looking at for a new No.1.

Maybe not as much interest in Mads as first thought… at least Jakub would represent pure profit although unlikely much more than £5mil.

Funny how some words can mean the complete opposite, but be the same word Resign and cleave, for instance.

I wouldn't be surprised. His form since his injury has been doggo. No one who will pay what we want will take that chance.

The issue was there wasn’t a “since his injury” as he was still injured and probably shouldn’t have been playing.

Exercise our right to extend his contract then this rejected bid is made public, selling Jakub would be pure profit, could see him going to a newly promoted prem side or even mid table as a decent back up for anywhere between £5m-£10m

Not the outcome I'd want but we could easily sell Mads for a good amount, Jakub for less but still for 'pure profit' and then get a new number one for the same price as Jakub but amortised over a five-year contract. Then get in an older head as backup with Bausor rotating in if/when required.

 

We could even loan in a number one for a season and kick the problem down the road a bit until we're on a bit more of a sturdier footing.

If nobody comes in for Mads it definitely makes sense to sell Stolarcyzk for a few million. Would be pure profit.

Not a new contract as such, believe the club just triggered an extra years extension. Could be to add an extra million or two to his price tag…
