Surprised that there are no further developments yet with Trump's plan to sue the BBC.

I'm presuming that it's the legal teams doing all the talking right now rather than much being made public.

In any case, even the bloke who highlighted the issue in the memo in the first instance is now on record as saying "I can't think of any matter on which I agree with Donald Trump", so at least he's likely not ideological.

In other news, good to see that Farage considers casual bigotry at school as just that - "playground banter".

Mind you, in the time and place that he grew up, he likely didn't know any differently.

I can think of several matters in which I agree with Donald Trump, its just way fewer than just about anyone alive.

He is certainly of his time and place.  It would be good if he stayed there instead of trying to bring those ideas to the now!

He's like my bro-in-law, who thinks you're "woke" (a term I hate) if you're offended by the use of the word P***I.

I also noted that when I went into the local Tesco supermarket there, the amount of stuff that was security tagged.

I can only assume it was to stop whitey nicking stuff.

There was also a turd in one of the aisles lol

No, honestly.

Is your Tesco near Twickenham?

Just why would you do this in a lift or Tesco!

I’ve got a mate absolutely hates Trump and the bias is hilarious. He was ranting once about deportations and how evil Trump was for deporting people. When I pointed out Obama had deported millions more I think his brain crashed to the blue screen of death.

I think Trump is a terrible president, and how out of the millions of amazing people the US has they ended up with a choice of him or Harris is mind boggling, but they are all awful. It just depends on which political bias people have as to whether they say they are a hero or a villain.

I can understand this point of view tbh, especially given the calibre of politicians at the present time.

With that being said, there is only one "side" who is mass producing scientific misinformation to the degree it is having, and will have much more, adverse effects on both human lives and human future, both in the US and across the world - to the degree of causing wholly unnecessary suffering and death. That is a critical difference because of the sheer degree of consequences that result, IMO.

I honestly think the government from the movie idiocracy could do better than this trump regime. That proposed peace plan looked like they have a blank piece of paper to Russia (and it seems like it may have been the case) only for Trumps own administration to believe and accept it.
“art of the deal” becomes more hilarious by the day.

Cutting cash ISA allowances to encourage S&S ISA use isn't actually that bad of an idea imo, if it wasn't for the fact that almost all the popular providers invest in global funds, meaning the impact on "UK firms" will be negligible, surely?

A lot more riskier for your average saver though I'd say. The guarantee of extra money so to speak from a Cash Isa was always more attractive before getting into Stocks and Shares where the possibility of losing your money is in play.

Less the pros and cons of each type of ISAs and more where that money will be going. Looking at my off the shelf product and it's nearly all American firms at the top of the list.

With Harris, I have no idea if she would have been good or bad as she doesn't the entire time attacking trump rather than saying what she do.

Similar issue to the Brexit campaign for remain, there was no vision to get behind for those wavering beyond leave = bad (which it does but there still needs to be a good argument for how the status quo can be good given it's inherently difficult to defend a status quo)

Still stick enough in a cash ISA it's just reduced. And if you are that risk averse just fill up premium bonds.

Brazil's Supreme Court has ordered that right-wing former president Jair Bolsonaro begin serving his prison sentence of 27 years and three months for plotting a coup after he lost the last election.

Justice Alexandre de Moraes on Tuesday ruled that the case had reached its final judgement and that no further appeals were possible.

Bolsonaro, 70, was found guilty of leading a conspiracy aimed at keeping him in power after he lost the 2022 election to his left-wing rival, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.

Note to the US: this is how you do things when a losing incumbent attempts to incite overthrow of a free and fair election. Not elect him again four years later.
