What a sad state we are in as a club where a striker with 12 championship goals last season is considered 'the dream'

Ivanovic won Millwall’s young player of the season for a reason. He proved last season that he is one of the most intriguing striker talents in the Championship. If he continues to develop, I reckon he goes for triple, quadruple what Millwall paid for him.

A 27 year old in the non league turned out to be the dream once

I'm not guaranteeing that Ivanovic never becomes anything better than what he is now. He could spend a year with us and improve a level.

For now 12 goals in the championship is what we should be targeting for a backup striker with potential, not a dream signing. At this point Ivanovic isn't anything particularly special.

Zian Flemming scored the same amount for Burnley last season. Wilson Isidor scored only one more than those two, and these are the strikers of two/three promoted teams.

Our best bet is probably signing a striker in the £5 million range, who is capable of scoring double figures worth, then if the best happens and we get promoted, then you sign better, which is probably what Leeds are going to do with Piroe.

I've not seen anything last season to suggest that any player would improve under this manager and coaching staff or even playing alongside some of our bunch of chumps.

Imagine this front 4 next season 😂

Daka is such a frustrating player. Think of the brilliant goal he scored against West Ham in RVN's first game, then think of him against Leeds in the Championship.

He could be a decent striker, it feels like he's got it in him tucked away deep down somewhere but we get 20 Leeds games for every West Ham game.

His confidence is obviously shot to pieces and I think he needs a move abroad to start again with a clean sheet.

Or maybe he can turn it round with a manager who puts his faith in him and gives him a solid run.

I am no daka fan but being leicesters second striker for the last 10 years is virtually an impossible task - never getting 2 starts in a row or a proper run of games where the gaffer truly believes you could or should be number 1 - I’m not saying daka has shown anywhere near enough and he has had plenty of games but maybe knowing he is the main man and starting 90% of the games he might just be able to get the magic 20 odd goals at that level - the championship is utter tosh so again he has no excuses whatsoever

We've been saying that since he signed for us mate.

Evan Ferguson would be my top choice, preferably permanent but loan if his fee is too high.

He'd score loads at this level and also be a great foil for Fatawu, Mavididi, BEK, Monga etc.

Reality is we'll have to get somebody who's a risk or a bit broken. Ferguson is the best realistic option in my opinion.

who says he’s overrated? Or are you just saying that because he’s American? How much do you actually know about him to make that assumption l?

I’m very familiar with CONCACAF, unfortunately.

All he needs is another pre season and another manager and he might stop tripping himself up with only the keeper to beat.

Didn’t he injure himself last preseason by missing the ball and kicking someone’s foot?

so you’ll know he scored 3 goals in his first4 games for the national team? Since his breakthrough . 4 in 8 appearances isn’t too shabby at all.

besides, I don’t think the USA should be singled out for bigging up their young talent. Some on here….  Monga  is the messiah and he’s not even started a game yet and he’s only 16.  Every national inflates the reputation of their young stars.
