Can’t show future sales as part of your budget

Pointless producing a plan then.

No wonder we ignored the stupid request. Planning to sell a player in football is part of any clubs business model.

Surely a business plan could have shown selling kdh at the end of the season as we did? I think another player sale was on the cards the club just didn't want anyone to know how much of a mess we were in.

Forecasts let the EFL spot risks in advance and, if necessary, intervene (transfer restrictions, spending limits, “agreed business plans”) before a club tips over the line.
There are too many variables involved to just say we planning on selling players at the end of the season.
If that was proposed, the EFL would lower the risk

You can’t rely on a player sale to balance your books.  Injuries ???

The plan is meant to show you are adhering to the limits, that’s the whole point and why we used a loop hole to exploit it last time in the champ.

That’s why some clubs have been hit with sudden points deductions mid-season — the forecasts were accepted, but the actuals didn’t match.

Then the whole professional club model is null and void.

So you get a points deduction if you sell a player at the end of the season and comply with psr within that period. Lunacy.

No wonder they can't make it stack up in court. Might as well give every club -6 at the start of the season just in case.

You don't get points deductions for a season that hasn't yet finished. But if the plan doesn't show evidence of how you'd compky thrn a transfer embargo is likely to be put in place.

This is what happens though when a club have no real leadership at the top, incompetent senior management and no real strategy-short or long term

If true, we owe them one for Skipp 🤭

No disrespect to Bilal, but if we were close to signing Eze, ****ed it so badly that he signed for our rivals and then signed BEK for 30m as the backup I'd be fuming.

I was looking at Reading and Derby points deductions they were the same season but the were failure to abide by the “agreed decision” set by the EFL

Not surprising Spurs are in for him, he will have no doubt impressed in the game there last season.

unless you scramble for a quick fire sale to show you’re making efforts to get on track?

Was Eze genuinely going to sign for Spurs? The Arsenal deal got over the line in a matter of days, with Spurs it had been a few weeks and no apparent real progress

I've just used chatgpt and I was wrong anyway. The EFL can and will give points deductions if a club has previously been sanctioned and then are under a business plan. So we could be perilously close to being part of that depending on how 23/24 supposed breach is recognised.

Obviously I can't say for sure what was really going on vs what was being reported, but it was being widely reported that Spurs were very close to an agreement, but then they wanted to reduce the price by sending players the other way and things cooled off. Then Arsenal swooped in and just paid was Palace wanted and got it done.

I was wrong. If under a business plan and you deviate mid year then you will get a sanction, even if you then sold players in June and complied with PSR.

Absolutely scandalous

Makes 0 sense

Could be a problem if the player decides he wants spurs and they won’t pay what palace have offered

whilst we can stand our ground, we can’t insist the player goes to palace, nor can we insist that spurs pay what palace have offered.  We’d have to be prepared to scupper any sale and have a very peed off player.

Not sure Levy can miss out on another play after the Eze fiasco!

Reckon they’ll be looking at a couple of options

hopefully that doesn’t mean this drags on until the end of the window which means we can’t do any business we might have wanted to

Bidding wars don't happen. The player will choose a club and then they will offer the minimum they can to get it over the line
