In the grand scale of things, playing in training gear isn't too much to worry about but it does give off a 'doing PE in trousers and a Polo because we forgot our gym clothes' vibe.

I know it’s a first game, it’s about fitness, and it means nowt,  but it still exciting to see a couple of the young lads start.

It IS a big day for some of those players. The likes of Goldong, Cartright, Marcal etc. It's their chance to show that we might not need to sign someone for that position and they can contribute to the squad this year as opposed to be punted out on loan.

Let’s have it right when you add up all the issues at the club currently, plus the pitch looking like shit and not a single kit being released prior to pre-season. I wish people would stop defending the club and see it for what it is. IT’S A PISS POOR OPERATION.

Psychologically, I think it’s actually a really sound tactic that suits this stage of the season and the occasion. I’d advocate it even if we had a kit ready to go.

Nice list of achievements for Marc, but the one they left out there was first Champions League goal. I'll never forget that, such an intense emotional moment!
