Do we go into this coming season, without any new incoming players?

The influx of youngsters should give us the refresh you get from new signings.

The squad seems massive - We desperately need to get players out.

It would be great to get a really promising striker in, but if we have to go with what we've got I wouldn't be too worried. Championship isn't great.

The manager has been in the job a week, we’ve got a bloated squad full of overpaid wasters and there’s still 6 weeks left of the transfer window. We just need to calm down.

Let’s allow the new manager time to assess what he has, hopefully we can bin off a couple of the high earners in the meantime and see what we look like at the start of September.

Aside from a centre forward (and I even think Mavididi and Ayew could do a decent job at this level) I think our squad looks ok.

Is it currently as well rounded as the last time we went into the Championship? No. But look at the below and tell me that side doesn’t finish near the top.

                Hermansen

Ricardo.  Okoli.    Nelson.   Thomas

          Winks.      Skipp

Fatawu.       BEK.         Monga

                 Mavididi

Yes Mads and BEK likely to leave but until that day we need to operate as if they’re part of the squad.

The above doesn’t include Faes, Vestergaard, Coady, Ndidi, Soumare, Ayew, BDR, Chowdhury, Justin, Daka…….

That is how bloody bloated we’ve allowed our squad to become. No wonder we’re not signing anyone until we can clear some out

The fact there is no business thus far in either direction is positive from my perspective.

The Gaffer has obviously stated he wants to be involved in who goes and who stays.

After this week when hes had a full week away expect movement.

The priority is shipping the dead wood and take it from there.

I would be confident in saying there be at least 3 in the door with 5/6 out.

Starting games without these members of the King Power donkey sanctuary will feel like we have new signings.

We shouldn’t have to wait for a manager to get signings, it’s the Director of Football’s job to establish the squad and overall playing style, ensure the squad is maintained with the qualities needed, and that the appointed manager fits within the clubs vision.

But surely all the best teams come from a single top person. One vision. Think of all the great managers there have been. How many of them were lead by a committee ?

Still 5 weeks to go in the window. Plenty of time yet.

I think we will maybe have begovic in if hermansen leaves before the season starts but that's it

I'd be happy with no new signings if we could offload a load of deadwood but that's unlikely.. only players that'll leave are Hemansen and BEK, maybe wilf before September but noone else is going to be wanted at the value we're going to need surely

I’d say we won the league by committee as the recruitment team chose the targets based on the criteria they were given and not Joe bloggs hiring all his mates the last few teams he managed.

I’m not convinced either Mads or the Elk will be leaving this window. If any teams were super interested in the players that were to our eyes outstanding this season, then they are being pretty quiet about it. I don’t think Mads had enough game time and if we sell the only reason to sell the Elk would be for a very significant amount.

Unfortunately its irrelevant how long the manager has been here, he has a DoF who has never been able to move players on en masse which we need in order for our manager to get players in. This is the summer of 2022/23 all over again.

Sincerely hope we don’t carry on with the totally embarrassing booing of our own players when the teams are read out. Absolutely shameful if it carries on into this season.

I agree and tbh neither have been outstanding.. I still think they'll go.. teams know we need the money so will likely buy late window at a lower cost.

For a club that doesn't have our track record of taking ages to complete even the most simple deal yes.

It feels like some people forget this is Top’s Leicester we’re talking about lol

I think we will definitely bring in 3 or 4 players who we need to plug glaring gaps in our squad, for example striker and goalkeeper if and when Mads leaves, however more important is that we move on the perceived deadwood / players who don’t want to be here.

If players are putting the effort in and are limited or just not good enough, I agree.

If, as is the case with too many of ours, they don’t give a damn, stroll round putting zero effort in, while getting paid more in a week than most supporters do in a year, whilst said supporters are parting with their hard earned income to watch the team, hard disagree.

Supporters are a paying customer (I don’t like using that term as that is the problem with how the club see us but in the context I am talking), so are entitled to provide feedback on an awful value for money service being provided. If they don’t like it, they can feel free to put a shift in that they are being paid extremely well for. Or take a reduction in pay to move elsewhere. Yeah I thought not to that as well.

If you went into a restaurant and the waiting staff brought your food and it was cold, you raised it and they just smirked and shrugged and walked off, would you think it was inappropriate to provide feedback about the service? No I guess not so same principles apply.

Not that it was really relevant to a thread about going with what we have, more an opportunity for you to have a dig at your fellow supporters at any chance I guess so more fool me for biting….

I dont want my post to be deleted again so Ill keep it simple, we wont have any wonder signing, no money, so it will be a couple of loanees maybe or someone on a free.  Plus with the -9 start we will striuggle to get out the bottom half of the table.

As this thread is related to players I think it is relevant.  Not sure that the restaurant analogy is apt. I’m not attached emotionally to any restaurant. Just want us to start with a clean slate and let the players prove themselves as worthy of our support. Booing your own team before the game has even started, is embarrassing and if I was an away fan, I’d think my team was onto a winner.
