Do we go into this coming season, without any new incoming players?

We signed Faes that year? but what a waste of a squad place

He did but not until 1st Sept and we played the first 5 Premier League matches with the same players as the previous season. But yes, you are right.

Honestly, so long as we get rid of a few I don't care about incomings. Especially when yous ee the names we're linked with

This is the issue, I have little faith in the people in charge to actually sign the right players and at some point we need to stop buying crap players on high wages, it's just not a sustainable business plan.

You can’t sign players without a manager…. Imagine signing players and Cifuentes doesn’t want them.

Getting players out is always a slow process, especially when you’ve been relegated.

We just need to get rid of some of the big earners, Faes, Vesty and Soumare need to be the main ones out the door. Selling Bilal and Mads probably won’t help us, their wages aren’t huge, and I’d imagine selling either one of them would just go back into the club to ease the burden of the wage bill?

I agree. You also don’t really want to get rid of players till the manager gives the all clear. So hopefully over the next few days/weeks whilst he gets a look at them in Austria, we’ll see some more outgoing news.

If we shift all of the deadwood we would need to sign at least one striker to replace Daka and Ayew, we would also need a defensive midfielder. As you say though, any incoming players should be players who could develop further and whose value would increase through the period of their contract.

That would be a Carlsberg Transfer window…. We will end up with the Everard’s version.

Just under three weeks until the start of the season, no reported progress on any incomings.

Are you surprised? We haven't even had a manager for a week yet.

Rudkin will buy some overpaid OAP on the last day of trading. Then spend the next few years trying to get rid of him   Same old story.

We were clearly not going to sign anybody without a new manager in place and without selling anybody first. We now have a manager in place but we still haven't sold anybody, so we're going to have to wait a bit longer for any new signings to come in. Hopefully Cifuentes will know soon which players he wants to keep and which he wants to bin - and then all he has to do is inform Jon Rudkin and he will take care of the rest....

Yes, we have to sell to buy and no one wants our crap.

Our only way out is to do a deal on the contracts then sell them for nominal fees.

Start with a smaller wage bill and less crap

Contract expiry aside, we must be the only outfit in the Champo 24 that have yet to see any incomings or outgoings this window, right?

Do have to wonder what the people at the club are being paid to do? We’ve released our third kit, have signed/sold no one, have no sponsors for the non existent kit etc etc. What are they doing day to day?

We shouldn’t have to wait for a manager to get signings, it’s the Director of Football’s job to establish the squad and overall playing style, ensure the squad is maintained with the qualities needed, and that the appointed manager fits within the clubs vision.

That is clearly not how our club does it, though. And would you really want to put that level of trust in Rudkin?

I think we are yeah, I looked yesterday. Only team not to have signed or sold anyone on a permanent deal at any rate.
