Listened to a few interviews and like the guy so far. Proof will be in the pudding but his mentality seems right for what we need. Glad we got Martí over Röhl at this point.

Cooper failed mainly due a disasterous summer window and never be accepted by most players and 100% of the fan-base.  Ruud on the otherhand was deprived of a window and had to put up with Winks and Vesty and a Team that had given up.

The future looks promising but we need Fluffkin to shift out some deadwood and raise some cash from Mads. The with Marti at the wheel I am hopefully we can have a good crack at this league.

No Cooper failed because he didnt have a plan / style of play, same as RVN

This guy will at least bring an identity to us.

get rid of the 3 bad apples and we be ok (coady winks dog man)

I suspect Winks will be central to his plans.

Footballing wise i agree, he fits the bill.

But King has a huge influence on players characters and this will be passed on.

Time will tell.

He probably be given a clean slate for "paternity" reasons.

But this was one of the blokes complaining  about cooper ... allegedly.

i personally would sell

Personally, I would have preferred rock and Rohl football over more anadine Enzo style keepball.

I haven't.

I'm saying I prefer direct football that Rohl would bring to the possession football that Cifuentes brings. I'm favouring one style of football over another.  That's not judging him or his abilities is it?

No it was more the Enzo style point. I liked Maresca but he was the very edge of a spectrum that Cifuentes is not as extreme in. But yeah fair point, I think he will be possession focused but exciting. We shall see

Well that depends on your definition of anOdYne.

I personally like the keep-ball style as long as it’s progressive. The problem comes if we’re promoted to the Premier League where it’s easily countered by squads full of higher quality players.

The dictionary definition will do. ie dull. Thanks for the correction.  I can almost feel the joy that bought you from here lol.

But anyway, as much as possession football bores me, I think he'll do well.  Rohl would have been my preferred choice but I prefer Marti to O'Neil, Wilder or Martin.

Talks the talk, now just needs to walk the walk.

Though interviews and clips have endeared me more than Cooper and RVN combined.

To be fair a wet turd talking absolute shite could impress more than Spaghetti Coops and the Clogg hopper between them

however I do agree Cifuentes is impressing so far

Just in case anyone had doubts over Marti still...the Second Tier Podcast have just rated him the ELEVENTH best manager in the division :D. So that's auto's secured already.:appl:

RVN spoke better than either just in terms of his qualities (not playing style) and the general aura. Most people were raving about how we spoke at first but then we all know what that panned out.

Marti gets a big tick for talking about his style because even the language shows his flexibility and when he talks about dominating, he means dominating the game and not just the ball (even about trying to score lots).

Not comparing football to chess is a win too

One of them had Gary O Neil as the best out of work manager a championship side could appoint.

I have serious doubts to their knowledge at times

Not The Top 20 is a far superior EFL podcast. Covers the whole EFL so you don't get as much pure Champo chat but they're not click merchants like the Second Tier goons.

I don't think anyone intentionally searches out Second Tier content... it has a habit of finding you lol

Which of the interviews and analysis videos that you've seen suggest that Marti is purely possession based football?

I remember that game vs QPR under Enzo at home, to be honest that day he absolutely schooled Enzo tactically with worse players. Shows a good amount of flexibility to adapt under different circumstances too, I like that he said if he goes 1-0 up he will go after 2nd and 3rd goals. Dominating the game is no bad thing, possession football is not bad thing but it has to be effective. Some of that is quality of players, some of that is a manager adapting to the cards hes been dealt.

Yeah strangely they had him high up in the out of work managers rankings they did...almost as if they feel obliged to change their mind now we've appointed him. No doubt if Saints or Ipswich had brought Marti in they'd be waxing lyrical!
