Comparing him to his compatriot Reuben Selles who is highly rated and is now manager of the Blades. He had a 32.14% win ratio with Hull City previous and Marti exceeds him by 0.79% , so it's a positive appointment by us imo. I think we will finish 2nd imo even with a points deduction.

Cruzcampo on tap at the KP please*

*for all your beer and craft ale geeks I haven’t a clue whether this is still brewed in Spain or not but please feel free to correct me.

He's Catalonian! Has to be Estrella, the best Spanish lager of them all.

Why are you comparing them? Based on the fact they are both from Spain? Seems a bit strage.

Also how are we finishing 2nd when we haven't even seen him manage one of our games yet lol

Based on their philosophy they both like to play a similar type of football, and it's interesting the route Sheffield United are going in from Chris Wilder, and they would also be looking to get automatic promotion as well, so out of the two I feel we have the better manager imo.

That's probably the expectation of the club to get automatic promotion this season you would have thought?,  I think we can manage it although it will be closely fought with the rest of the teams from 3rd - 5th.

Expectation should be automatic promotion yes but I'm not going to call it right now. A lot needs to happen including Cifuentas implementing his style which he said will take time.

Any news on a new goalkeeper coach ? (No Danny Ward jokes please)

Andrew Sparkes is the Goalkeeping Coach at QPR (and was under MC), there have been rumours that Stephan wants to bring in his own man, so Sparkes might be following Cifuentes & Calm out of Loftus Road.

We also need an Analyst - we haven't had one since Cooper left. Perhaps, Sam Tuohy might be in line, he was Head of Analysis under MC, but moved to Chelsea in an Academy role a year ago (probably more money, but not a career move)?

Encouraging, I have to say. But he needs results and to get the players onside quickly, as there has been too much player power and unrest since Pooper and RvN.

I'm really hoping this is a positive appointment, everything I'm hearing sounds good but the proof is in the pudding

Around 3 minutes of the video he’s walking round with a ball under his arm.  Pretty sure he saw the ball being passed to Skipp and grabbed it right quick..

I have a gut feeling of positivity around this appointment, something I didn't get with the last 2.

I don't want for alot this season. Bring in/through some likeable players that the fans can get behind, bridge the gap between club and fans, and for the love of God don't go and get yourself promoted to that 17 team Super League  another ill-prepared season like the 1 just gone is the last thing g we need.

There’s an awful lot in that video to feel really positive about. The more I read, and now see, of him, the more I like this appointment. His energy, clarity and character  screams out. 👍
