  1. 1. 10 days from the season opener - how excited are you for the return of football out of 10?

    • 0-2... King Power, Rudkin et al have drained the life out of me.

    • 3-5... Just looking forward to some weekend routine again...

    • 6-8... Watching some academy players may be decent? We may win a few games?

Interested to gauge if everyone's excitement (Or lack thereof) is aligned with my own...

Edit: your reason for voting your level of excitement obviously doesn’t have to align with the rationale after the voting option…

I'm a 10/10 KP hater but I'm fairly excited because the academy grads and it's hard to know where we'll finish up. In 23-24 it felt like we should blitz it but I don't know where we'll stack up, so there's more intrigue

Depending on the points deduction there’s no reason imo why shouldn’t be in the top 6 minimum.
I know we have to get rid of some of the rubbish we’ve got but the majority of this league is made up of shit teams with the exception of 5 or 6 teams.

Difficult to get excited. Still have the same shower of s**t senior management and the same shower of s**t players. Manager might be decent but it will only paper over the cracks. Over the past 4 years we literally haven't learnt one lesson from the numerous mistakes we have made and are making the same mistakes again. We are crying out for a refresh/ reset (call it whatever you want) and haven't gotten rid of one of the deadwood players we have. Signed a 38 year old goalkeeper and that's it.

Hard to say. The squad could change a fair bit between now and September 2nd, despite it currently looking slow/stagnant on sales. I imagine we might get late offers for Hermansen, Ndidi, El Khanous and some crappy loan deals / nominal deals for some other deadwood.

How we'll play / start is still unknown. I think the optimism for all the young players is bit premature / overstated - I don't think we can expect to through tons of untested youth players into the starting lineup and still expect to get playoffs or better. I'd be surprised if anyone other than Nelson, Alves and Monga make any kind of impression, but maybe I've not paid enough attention to pre-season.

And I think Ipswich/Southampton/Birmingham will be out-competing us for autos.

I'm looking forward to the days out and, I think, with Cifuentes and the academy lads coming through, there's enough to get excited about on the pitch.

Through that though, it's difficult to escape the resentment towards how the club is being run in the background and that negativity is something that the players and managers will have to work around.

I haven't voted as I think I am in 0-2, but its not just because of KP/Rudkin.

Football in general, just seems to wind me up. Time wasting, people earning crazy money and not seeing the bigger picture. The Powers that be pushing PSR.

This is also where I'm at. Ive renewed my ST but not bothered about going. LCFC has dominated my life but it's depressing what's happened not only to the City but football in general. I can't be arsed with it anymore but not yet found something to fill the gap. How can you after investing so much in to it over virtually your whole life? Such a weird and sad emotion. Feeling lost.

Do not share the hope and optimisms of supporters who i feel are living in the past thinking this will be HMS Piss the League.

Never been interested in womens football, but watched some of the Euros, seems refreshing compared to the men's game.

Never been less enthused for a season unless a lot of the young players start. Rather finish 7th with a team of youngsters learning the ropes than go up with all the tried and tested prem failures.

strange season ahead

I’ll always be excited ( I’m not a happy clapper).
Being born in the inner city and a fanatic for as long as I can remember for 60 years (anyone aged under 35 will never understand that football and the Citeh, or another hobby or sport , was all we had back then) I’ll always want the team to win not matter who is in charge. I’d feel that a big part of me would go if I stopped supporting them.
I believe the modern game is ruined though, and I’m only interested in us.

I know what you mean. I hope you get the interest back.
I’ve liked what I’ve seen of Marti so far.

Gutted Top still hasn't taken any action. That was an open goal in terms of getting fans more optimistic about this season. However I am buzzing for the season to start - love the champ and looking forward to the footy being back on again
