I’m considering moving to L1 from SK4. Lifeless over there

Bit bias but would suggest SK1 (or G2 corner) to start with. Maybe make use of the last 3 games to test it out (you can move your ST for single games to another seat/area).

Just watching the Saints v Arsenal  and the pre match song/ PA in comparison to our drab WYS and PA who is non existent.

No wonder the crowd is half asleep at KO

Beats From The Dressing Room is an absolute abomination.

Only about 3 rows sing in the singing section though at the bottom. That area could be great… but it isn’t.

when I used to go you could see the lads at the bottom actively turning around to try and get them going but they don’t bother, which is weird seeing as they moved their ST’s specifically into that area

I just think having like minded fans in one massive safe standing area helps. It’s as is KP are anti atmosphere having it only at the top few rows spread out throughout the ground.

we don’t help ourselves though, only union fs sing in the “singing section” and the people who proactively bought tickets in that area just stand arms folded which is 75% of the area

I do agree but it’s also up to the fans to do more here. Either people need to move out of L1 and P to SK1 or visa Vera.

At the moment it’s just weird. I don’t know another clubs who has 3 different blocks.

personally Ive never really liked P as its too close to the family end and seems to mostly have kids in it, with the installation of the safe standing a decision should of been made at that point to consolidate all vocal fans into L1 probably so that atmosphere can by maximised by placing the vocal fans next to the away fans and preventing the dilution of  the vocal fans. I stand in G1 and yes I appreciate union fs but I feel their positioning in the opposing corner to away fans prevents noise travelling to the away fans suffciently essentially allowing away fans to out sing us almost every game

How has it happened that SOUTHAMPTONS  home atmosphere is 10x better then ours 😭😭

Probably because they are playing well, are on a good run and had nothing to lose last night against Arsenal. Also have a great chance of play offs. Don’t understand why you actually cannot see what a difference all the above makes to an atmosphere. If we were in the same position we would easily match Saints’ atmosphere. Being in the bottom 3 bears no resemblance to the situation at Southampton, which affects the atmosphere greatly. As for WYS, it’s historically a City song, going back to the 60s and 70s. When Colin Murray had radio programmes about football anthems, he selected WYS as one of the best around.

We genuinely wouldn’t though. We have L1 which are a shadow of themselves, singing section where only front 3 rows make an effort and the rest of the kop has an average age of 65. When was the last time the kop all stood up? You are kidding yourself

You are not taking in to account the circumstances . Presumably you have been following football long enough to know how form, league position and playing style affect crowd atmosphere. City totally would have been in full voice if they were performing and potentially getting in the playoffs, against big time Charlie’s from the PL. I sit on the kop and there are plenty of older fans who sing and many younger ones that don’t. I expect those who want to stand opted for the safe standing. The Kop weren’t all standing in the great escape season or the title winner. I’m impressed at how well some on here know the demographic of other clubs fans. Apparently only City seem to have fans over the age of 30 and every other club seem to be stadium full of Peter Pan clones. I’m proud that we have long time, 40+ plus years supporters and am surprised that others don’t. Perhaps you just don’t see them on your once a season visit and shots of the same areas on TV.

No I definitely am, championship season under maresca was rubbish atmosphere and we won the league ffs - it is part the clubs fault for not doing a whole stand of safe standing. Too many little pockets here and there - you cannot say the Kop has a “great atmosphere” when we are doing well, if you think it does you don’t go to many grounds.

i was a ST in the kop for years but didn’t renew this year FWIW

If only the fans were more positive.

We wouldn't be losing to a team on -5 points like Sheffield Wednesday.

Ofcourse, its the fans fault🙄...jesus wept ffs....

Never mind the shit ownership, inept hierarchy and management inept players...no its the fans who SHOULD be more positive as we really are a joy to watch...

Let me just remind you we are losing  to
Sheffield Wednesday who  are winless in their last 21 home league games (D6 L15), the longest run without a home win in English Football League history.

BUT your right we can should be positive innit...

I didn’t say the Kop has a great atmosphere. I’ve been to enough grounds to know that these days, even at the so called grounds of wonderful fans, like Liverpool, Newcastle and Man Utd. , have flat atmospheres. A good atmosphere is spontaneous and involves most of the ground, not just a singing/standing section. I haven’t singled out the Kop for having an atmosphere when we are doing well, but when the whole ground gets involved. Look at the publicity we got when we won the league, as the ground was shaking, and commentators all remarked on it when they came.

Dragged down by too many passive observers and those who just want to defend the club at all costs. Proper online mob.
