Winks didn’t look or seem happy in his post match interview. Either he wants out or there’s something going on with him. Looks a shadow of the player in the championship who seemed lively and full of life. Hope he’s alright.

yes he doesn't seem his normal self and I think lots went on behind the scenes with him and Ruud.  Marti seems a great man manager so hopefully that helps Harry. Maybe its confidence? A dip in mental health?

He also seemed close to both KDH and then Coady and they have both left.........he needs to start games, fans get behind him....fresh start

Maybe it’s because he has been dropped for the last 6 months and comes back and plays a half of football and wins man of the match. Would you be happy in your place of work if it tarnished your reputation.

Part of management at any workplace is to get a disgruntled employee back on side. Things can change and fast if he's here after the window and he's given a role he relishes

It shouldn’t pain you. He’s head and shoulders above the others as our best CM - although that says a lot about our other options

You’re right, it only pains me in the sense of hating his attitude last season such as posting photos in beer gardens when we were getting relegated etc.

New page and all that I guess

Feels like a lot of them don’t want to be here.

Agreed and this is where I have some sympathy with Marti, he needs to pick a team to go out and win a game from a group that contains a number of high earners all casting an eye at the exit door, with a little over  2 weeks of the transfer window left. Rudkin needs to get busy even if that means a high turnover of players by the time we get to the end of the window.

Hopefully, lots of overpaid underperforming players that need to be onside

This is why the transfer window needs to close before the season starts. Players are in a position where they are playing but hopinh they'll be gone before the end of the month. Balancing impressing enough but not risking injury.

A win is a win but typical citeh we made it difficult.

Obviously early days and lots of work needed clearly…also one or two reinforcements to push on.

Skipp continues to fail to impress.

Winks lifted the performance second half but I see reports he may be off (Brentford, Valencia) and if true we will need to replace him.

I don't know why anyone thought it would be easy today.

Sheff Wed were also going to make it difficult, the first game, a fans protests, live on Sky, the players commitment being questioned in the media.

Their new manager was also going to get them motivated in this scenario

We wore them down with 75% possessions and 28 shots so a decent win in the circumstances.

Btw this isn't me being bitter as the performance by Wednesday, the EFL and result is exactly what SWFC Fans wanted, as it highlights the clubs positive fighting spirit and also the negativity of the EFL/ Chairman....

I think you’ve got to find a way to play Bilal as an 8 alongside Winks, with Ayew in the 10 behind Daka, or a new striker who can press and moves as much as Daka does to pull players out of position.

I’d like to see Bilal in the 8, but it’s never happened before and I can’t see that changing under Marti. Maybe Bilal in the inside LM position he played in towards the end of last season could be an option.

Stolarczyk

Ricardo, Okoli, Nelson, Thomas

Fatawu, Winks, New CM, El Khannouss

Kone, Ayew

I don't think that Leicester fans can take much away from todays performance as it wasn't a normal game.... All the pressure from the hype behind SWFC's circumstances and playing a shoe string team that they should beat easily... However, the EFL stepped in with the officials for the (offside) 1st goal by Leicester and subsequent sending off of Barry Bannan to ensure a result...

if you’re talking about Winks for the goal, he can only really be classed as being offside if he touched the ball… and there is some dispute on wether he did or not.

i get that it can be a bitter pill to swallow losing this game  with all that’s been going on and after leading, but take your owl tinted specs off for a second.. the ‘offside’ can not be proven because it’s hard to say he touched the ball  and with bannan, the second yellow card was for the fact his studs were high and the fact he touched the ball first is irrelevant.  and if you also look at the stats, you guys got absolutely battered. In short, we all are with you  and will support you as a fan base, but today was probably a fair result with all things considered.

Sitting behind the goal. Soumare should never ever ever play again. I've been of that opinion for every season now. Flashes of 'brilliance' are completely outweighed by the outsized affect he has on the team structure and spirit.

Ayew does a great job at taking players out of the game and has been told to stay upright. But he's almost allergic to the 6 yard area or box in general. Meaning we have nobody at the end of those countless pumped balls into the area.

Skipp I thought harried and chased but it was like watching a child at times. A far worse footballer than Choudhury at present. No idea what he was like in the past to justify that price tag.

Massive credit to the Sheffield Wednesday fans. And their keeper made some crucial saves. They were the much better team in the first half and far more dangerous than us.

Worrying it took a red card to make the breakthrough.

Fundamentally the 2 pivots - Soumare and Skipp - made what should have been a comfortable game into a potential loss. Both need to sit on the bench until we have a comfortable lead and even then I'd be worried.

You can't go starting two defensive mids at home to sheff Wednesday

Ridiculous

Unless he was doing that during a game that he was supposed to be at, seems like a strange reason to be upset. They are human and have lives outside of football.

I do agree that he looked unhappy all game. I think he wants the reported Valencia or Fiorentina move.

But is it? Would you not rather he get the ball, release it quicker and then move into space and create more movement around him? It would make our attack far more dynamic. Too many times today it slowed down because the ball wasn’t being released quick enough. Not saying he had a bad game, just that there’s things I wish he did a bit quicker.

If he's got the options to release it, yes. But hes clearly been told to get hold of it more and get Bilal and the wingers involved more. Skipp coming off and Winks getting forward more made it a lot more successful. I think you're reaching a bit

He was involved in active play, as basically went for the ball but missed.
