Indeed it is. Drugs are bad.

So what did we learn today we didn’t already know …

soumare , skipp and thomas are garbage - yep already knew that

Ayew works hard and is half decent at holding the ball up but will never score 20 goals - yep we knew that

vesty is a poo defender but decent with his feet and infinitely better when he has winks to pass it to - yep knew that

winks is very good at this level and should be one of first names on team sheet - must look at the other 2 and cry his eyes out - pretty much new that didn’t we

faes is probably our best centre half at this level - Okoli far to slow to progress play and him and vesty as a pairing look like a pair of big donkeys - yep again

get soumare out of our club - knew that

the wingers will make or break our season - poor first half’s but where coming into great games - knew that

monga is going to be very special- we knew that

Bek needs to do more with his ability - ditto

what will the new gaffer do differently to the previous 2 - well that’s the one we don’t really know yet but I’m taking today as another learning exercise for him - will have quickly realise all the things above that we already know and do something about them - thought his subs were great and shape change apart from the Fatawu for mcateer one - but I’ll give him a pass on that - tried to win the game and ended up winning it - needs to quickly get his head round that first half was simply shambolic because of most of the reasons above - I’m backing him to work it all out quickly

Great post and you could have added that has been the case for the past 2-3 years and we need to bring in players who either short term get us up and we only sign them for a max of 2 seasons or players that can grow like Bilal - tough to find but can be done with James, Drinkwater, Knockaert, Mahrez all

proof of it from 12 years ago - we need a similar plan and policy to recruit!

marti will need to have a clear vision !

Probably about an hour of the dirge from last season, but just a slightly more positive final half an hour. Sheffield Wednesday looked more tired as the game got on and the sending off was perhaps the final nail. Clear that with Fatawu's and El Khannouss attacking pace and runs that no doubt will cause opposition problems.

Negatives: Skipp damn that is guy is so bad, a chance to start a fresh in the championship but he honestly looked so bad. Justin still poor as last season, Ayew... no way he can start up top on his own if you expect goals. Mavaidi I just though looked off it and body language didn't look great, perhaps wanting out?

I liked the enthusiasm from the manager pre-match, going round and applauding the fans. Straight away getting them on your side... massive. Does seem to show a lot of more passion compared to the last guy.

Team needs a striker, not expecting much from Daka or Ayew they will not get us the goals we need. People will laugh at Danny Ings, 4 goals in 52 at West Ham Utd I get yes, but maybe he would be more of threat than say either Daka and Ayew at this level.

CM, and the defence as a whole is very concerning. Soumare who I thought would thrive looks ****ing abysmal, the sheer lack of press from the midfield two was very concerning, and Soumare is so susceptible to the transition, in fact, we are as a whole, Thomas looked poor, Justin looked poor, Okoli just stood and watched the ball roll past him when they scored, and can’t pass for shit, Vesty is far too slow and will get caught out multiple times this season.

The attacking far too slow, it’s ponderous and lacks aggression, everything we saw against Fiorentina was not there today.

I just think this team is there for the taking against any team with pace and half decent finishers.

We need a new CM, two new fullbacks, and if Faes goes a new CB to partner who should be Nelson.

More concerns than positives today, no matter how you flower up Sheffield Wednesday, they’re a poor team in a state, and we struggled to beat them. Very worried about is defensively, we’re going to have to outscore our opposition until we’ve sorted that defensive box out. That CM and CB partnership is not working.

I don't think that Leicester fans can take much away from todays performance as it wasn't a normal game.... All the pressure from the hype behind SWFC's circumstances and playing a shoe string team that they should beat easily... However, the EFL stepped in with the officials for the (offside) 1st goal by Leicester and subsequent sending off of Barry Bannan to ensure a result...

I've seen the sending off again he's lucky it wasn't a straight red

We looked a side which haven’t had enough time to gel with their new manager. He’s still learning about the players more than anything. That back four won’t last long and Bilal sorted himself out after a stinking first half playing too far away from goal.

The plan B when it goes wrong will be that our wingers dig us out. We will games through the wingers alone on some occasions

Harry Winks for Skipp - changed it. He is a top level at this level and we will suffer if we let him go and don’t replace him. Harry winks or someone of his qualities is key in this division.

Credit to the manager. Realised his mistake, made a change.

Ayew and Daka also special mentions. Daka’s running when coming on was creating all sorts of space.

Monga is going to be special.

very difficult to get excited until 1st Sept and we know what the squad is because right now, the two title contenders (by some distance) won 2-1 this weekend.

I didn’t think Daka did much to be honest.

Normally when we lose, even if we didn't deserve to, its all 'well its about results'.... but never seems to apply to us! 😄

Honestly, there are 'fans' on here who would have preferred us to lose.. pathetic stuff.

The same every season. Tossers, the lot of them.

First half was RUUD ball unfortunately. Second half encouraging. Winks is a bit lightweight in the Prem but at this level ,will boss 99% of games.

A lot of our earlier wins under Enzo weren't electric, maybe up until the Southampton one so will see.

I think maybe we all massively underestimated how difficult a fixture this would be. We all just assumed they’d be knackered and have no bench etc which proved to be true. But we didn’t give them the credit they deserved for the spirit they showed. I imagine they’ll have that again next week when they’re back at home but over the next few months, that will drain out of them and they will become the easy 3 points we expected.

Fair play to them. They exceeded any expectations I had and we underperformed for large parts. But I’m not too down on us. I’m convinced we’ll be just fine but Marti needs time.

Play a team that has pace on the counter and we will struggle.

Take the points and concentrate on next week and put the ressies in mid week.

Just get the points on the board

Was always going to be a tough one especially with that away end. Better test will be next week.

Their keeper and our poor finishing saved them from it finishing with the scoreline many expected

The xG was only 2.42 from 13 shots

edit, I see you said poor finishing also
