Personally I wouldn’t mind seeing him given a chance in the league as he will probably offer more than others occupying those positions currently, regardless of age.

 

My only concern is how venomous many of our fans are towards youth players. At his age, he won’t be great every game so it won’t be helpful for him to be insulted and written off…

It’s only people on hear who never go, the attendees and travellers who actually go will always get behind youth, and I go back as far as jock Wallace’s babes including 16 year old Andy Peake and Dave Buchanan.

Nice to get him in the starting line-up. He often looks like a player beyond his years but then also goes missing, as you'd expect from a 17-year-old.

 

The fact that he's playing in central midfield (even in an advanced role) at that age is testament to the kind of player he is.

 

Consistency will come with more game time, which he should get. Sometimes I think he needs to really believe that he belongs at this level. Like a few of our players yesterday he attempted the safe pass when a line-splitting pass was also on. If he can sharpen up that decision making, he'll be one hell of a player.

 

Quite frankly, expecting more from a player that young in the position he plays seems silly, but he looks capable of it and he'll only get better with more games.

looks a decent prospect and hopefully he gets a good run in the team as he will get better & better…

He looks dangerous in the press, which should collectively net several goals this season. Keen to show for the ball and get involved too. Clearly lots to learn but the makings of a solid midfielder are there. Longer term I reckon he looks more like a box-to-box than a 10, but 10’s a good place for him to start with less defensive pressure.

Clearly got huge potential. Chalked up an assist. Makes great runs and gives us some athleticism in midfield. 

 

Hope we'll be seeing a lot of him this season.

He was really poor last night. The assist was a poor ball that Fatawu turned into a chance. I’m all for playing youth, but as @TJB-fox said, he was miles off it yesterday, and it was a massive part of our attacking woes last night. It’s a position that needs sorting ASAP.

Got a massive ceiling in terms of potential but physically he's just not there yet. Looked absolutely spent at the start of the second half which is understandable for a fairly wiry 16/17 year old (still haven't cracked the mystery of how old he is!)
