It’s probably too late to sanction this now, would leave us with nobody as it stands…. But surely that massive wage and any income will be beneficial.

We will still end up paying his wages until the end of his contract anyway I’d imagine, as he wont get the same as he’s on here.

Reported £23m, 5 year contract in 2021.

So £4.6m…… ish

Thanks. I wonder if part of this is it's very close to the end of the window, and to get a quality replacement, we want more money.

But given that fee can be amoritsed, surely we take £5m?

That's just his amortisation.

You also have to consider his loyalty fee. As much as people are incredulous about this now, you need to remember he was highly desired when we signed him. Pretty sure even Liverpool were interested?

Wouldn't surprise me if there's a whole load of other extras due when we sell him.

Yes, you’re right.

So it’s going to be fairly loaded.

I don’t see him leaving unless it’s for a big fee.

At present, he does half a job at this level.

Let’s not forget the standard we are playing at as well, hardly many prolific forwards in this league.

I wonder if this will impact the Carranza deal?

Doubt it. More likely to impact the Ivanovic deal.

I think a compromise can be reached. I'm also betting that there are other clubs across Europe who are desperate for a new striker and if they miss their top targets then they may come in to do a quick deal.

£6m-£8m + future sell-on should be enough

I'm extremely confident we'd have been bringing in a striker one way or another regardless.

Are you new to John Rudkin?

Yeah yeah, I know.

But it's the most screamingly obvious need.

The Carranza rumours look quite credible and he's exactly the profile of loan signing I'd expect.

I reckon him and JJ get done.

Booooooo, drop the asking price

Is it just me or is the Betis interest completely fabricated and club told JP to tweet the value we'd accept to get attention of clubs needing a striker to panic buy?

As I was typing this I remembered our DoF is Jon Rudkin and this would require brain cells

The fact the club are seeking less that half of what we originally paid for him just says it all.

Absolute disaster of a signing.

Loan with optional €10M fee I bet, and then he’ll score 30 and we’ll look like melts

Fair play to him if he did. All that tells me is he’s more cut out for Spanish football than he is English football.

A few years ago I'd have believed this, but there's been bridges burned between Rudkin and Percy. I doubt they're on friendly enough terms to pull that off.

This is the issue with the club sticking to their high valuations of players. Yes you get £9mil for Justin and £12 mil for Mcateer but you also miss out on selling Daka for £5mil.

We really should be trying to get what we can and move on at this point, he's not even starting over Jordan Ayew.
