Loan with optional €10M fee I bet, and then he’ll score 30 and we’ll look like melts

His contract is up next summer isn't it, so how would that work?

For me one of our worst ever signings in my life time. He’s on a par with Akinbiyi, if not worse.

Definitely worse

And he's walking away for free next summer unless you get him gone Jon.

What Percy said was "Betis have not got near that valuation."

We're all acting like they've offered just shy of 10 and we're being unreasonable. For all we know they've offered less than whatever is left of his amortisation plus his bonus. They could very well have offered us something that'd represent a loss. Especially given we'll have to offset the fact they won't be able to afford to pay him as much as we do.

We also might think there's Saudi interest.

same as with Eduoard last season, he'd get a contract extension as part of the loan

Amortisation concerns are for the birds, frankly. He goes next summer and he leaves for free anyway. Even £1 now would be offset against his book value. Get what we can, get him gone.

Is that how it works. I though you actually had to account for the book loss based on the transfer fee?

His wages must be £3m or more even in the Championship.

This is what people forget about with the PSR 'book value". Yeah if we accept less than the "book value" we make a loss on the fee but we can still save on his disgustingly huge wages.

It would also get his wages off the books.

He was signed when we were in Europe for over £20m. He'll be on a really good wage here. Certainly one of the highest paid players in the league.
