Hard to have any confidence at all when you see the line up but hope they prove me wrong

Like Charlton I guess. :dunno:

Why would he say just before the match starts?

Let's face it nothing happens over the weekend and that leaves just Monday. I think Top has learnt from doing duff deals on deadline day so I can't see anything happening. Marti also sounds downbeat about anyone coming in

Who would you play instead?

That's a separate question. To be honest, virtually any combination of the current squad would be rank. But I'd certainly be playing Ricardo and Nelson. I would also play Daka up top with Ayew behind, though I realise that is also unpalatable to lots of fans.

I’d dispute both these things, neither have much to back them up with.

Skipp may get worse and be a lost cause. This idea that young players always need to play sporadically isn’t based on anything. If they’re better than our other players, they should play.

In fact, if you think Skipp is going to get better and more confident with a run of games, why does that not also apply to Monga and Page? Especially when Monga has built his confidence with a great goal the other week, how is dropping him going to help that?

Skipp was highly thought of at Spurs and even down as a potential future captain. He's come here and not got going and lost his confidence. We don't have anyone really who can play there currently so we need him. Winks is a better player but doesn't want to be here. Hamza could play there when Ricky is fit potentially but right now he needs to play and find the form his fee and pedigree would suggest is there. Monga is undoubtedly the best talent we have next to Fatawu but he got bullied at Charlton, he handled it well but both him and Paige struggled because 1st team Championship football is a big step. They both need to be managed properly. Mavadidi should be keeping him out the team the fact he hasn't says a lot about him. Marti is doing all the right things.

So being negative is better why?  Do you get to collect righteous points?

Page starting is surely a good thing, Monga been good from the bench if we need a goal

The poor lad is clearly not ready to be starting in such a key position on the pitch, based on what we saw last week against a team who are likely to be battling against relegation.

What else were people expecting?! We haven't suddenly snapped up a bunch of decent players I'm the last 24 hours.

I wasn't expecting anything different but I'm still disappointed that this is the reality of our team and situation
