But, raising 40m this summer via JJ, Nelson, Monga, Stolarcyk and Fatawu is essential but also delaying the inevitable. We will need to do the same firesale again in 2027, and 2028 just to keep afloat and at that point, there'll be no assets left to cash in. 

 

 

I’d wonder if there’s stipulations that they have to activate the option at the end of the season and not January - and Rennes can refuse a January offer, and bank the higher fee in the summer. It would seem not by the sounds of having “a plan”.

I imagine there will be stipulations which our DOF's "plan" probably hasn't accounted for!

 

Whatever happens, I'm almost certain it will drag on to the very end of the transfer window.

If we don’t sign him in January then I very much doubt we will sign him in the summer unless we get promotion. There will be lots of clubs monitoring him.

That's ultimately only answered by how good those signings turn out to be. 

Forgetting that aspect, I'd be pretty pleasantly surprised if we got £30mill for him.  I really like him but I think as things stand there's too much needs doing to this squad to turn that kind of money down.

It's a interesting one.

 

Would prefer us to wait until we get a new sporting director in before we spend any money.

 

I think there is value to have in the loan market still.

We're in the shit and this isn't gonna be a one season fix. Sign JJ up (for a modest fee?) and that's part of the spine that gets us out of the shit

 

I think we have to cash in on someone, and Fatawu is the likely suspect.

Any money this window should be used to tie down Rudkin for another 5 years. Marvelous DoF - we simply cannot afford to lose him to another Club.

We do need to try and seal the deal before it goes into bidding, Lampard will be all over him if they are promoted, would imagine Ipswich would take a look also then at least 6 premier league clubs would take a punt on him given the season he’s having for sure.

I think is actually very close to what the plan would be.
 

sadly however , I wouldn’t trust anyone currently at the club to buy the right winger, CF and fullbacks.

We’ll sign him at the option price in January. But purely to give us the flexibility to bank a quick profit in the summer without any trouble. Get it done properly and you generate another 10 million on the balance sheet in this PSR period…is probably what they are thinking
