Pleased with the attitude regarding getting rid of players who don't value being here , expect a few more out.

The incomings have potential,  but Id suggest they want to play for us for the right reasons, and that trumps getting excited about bigger names.

Ive got faith inbthe direction of travel, and that this is a start to fixing the broken core of the squad

I don't think you can rate it too much at the moment.

The outgoings have been for decent money and you have to give the club credit, they were never going to be able to get rid of all of those people we wanted.

The 4 players that have come in.

Begovic - Great back up and experience

James - Top signing for this level and potential

Ramsey - Ability I think is there, its a gamble on his fitness

Carranza - A gamble again, but we needed a 9 and didn't have lots of funds to play with.

So as it stands I'd give it a 6.5, but in 6 weeks it could look like an 8 or a 5.

I bet you said the same this time last year.

Particularly disappointed with the slow, one in four striker.  We'll see.

It's difficult to tell how much our transfer strategy is still being driven by PSR and how much is the owner's financial difficulties. We were compliant with PSR last year and with player sales and the amount trimmed off the wages, I'd have thought it would have given us the head room to go out and get a £10m+ striker. It's a concern if the owner's personal finances are starting to impact our transfer strategy.

What we're left with is probably a top 6 Championship squad (even in a poor quality Championship like I think it is this year), although an injury to Fatawu and it's more mid table. Alot will depend on Marti now and early signs are that he's at least bringing some resilience back to the team, even though it's a struggle to watch.

I’d probably.say 6/10. Leicester got decent money for a few players like Justin and McAteer. I don’t know what happened with Bilal negotiations but I wonder with more cash we could have bought a striker that we know more about such as Ivanovic even Kone.  Jordan James was very good not sure why he didn’t feature so much in France but if Marti can get the best out of him could be a great buy.

We addressed the 3 areas we most needed players. James I think is an absolutely excellent signing, exactly what we needed and if £5m is the purchase option - bargain.

Carranza, even if he ticks over at 1 in 3 it’s a big improvement on Ayew.

Ramsey, if he has a full season playing like he has in his short loan spells then we’ll go up.

Outgoings - we did well to get as much for Justin and McAteer, few other decent sales but we didn’t clear the decks well enough.

7/10.

8/10.

For the players that we've shipped out, we've got good value for all of them.

We've not brought much in in terms of volume, but if we treat the loan-with-option/obligation as if they were permanent transfers (they essentially are) then what we have brought in is good value on the face of it and has strong potential. Whether or not that is realised, only time will tell, but hopefully we're moving in the right direction again.

And we've finally chopped some of the deadwood that's been hanging around like a bad smell. Bye bye Danny, at long last.

A perfect window would've seen a few more on their way out (Faes, Winks, Soumare, Daka), a few more in (another striker, DM and CB) and generally business just being done bit earlier in the window. The delay on getting Marti in probably hasnt helped, but better late than never. But the most important thing is that we're making steps to address the financial situation and from the outside it seems as though we're back to being compliant again.

We are still left with all of the players that we needed to ship out the most. Faes, Winks, Vestergaard, Kristiansen, BDR, Daka and Soumare. The sales we have made have essentially allowed us to carry on paying their wages.

We left all of our business to the last day, which is never ideal, and although all three seem promising, there are also coming in off the back of a failed spell and/or a bad injury. They are also all loans, so if they don't work out and they go back at the end of the season, we have potentially 10+ players leaving next summer on a free or end of loan...which is not the sign of a healthy football club.

Good summary - the most exciting thing is a few new faces to make those already here fight for their places, and we specifically needed that up front and in the middle.

Any or all of those could still go to Saudi or Turkey in the coming weeks.  I think Faes and Bouba more likely, not sure I can see Vesty playing in either.

Yeah sorry that’s what I meant - poorly phrased! But would be happy with a loan and fee for next Summer’s PSR!

will have to wait and see, hopefully weve bought in a decent striker and not another damp squib.

Agree . Although if he doesn’t shape up we’ll have an idea by January with funds available to get the millwall guy in - he feels like the one who got away

It's NOT the sign of a healthy football club, this is true but we aren't healthy. We all know this. It's not a secret.

This IS the sign of a reset though and thats how we get healthy. We need a reset. Ship out the big wages and bigger egos and start again. We began that process in this window and we will continue it next year.

It may not be pretty but it's what needs to be done.

I think I'd say logically the decisions have made sense. Although I still think Ndidi will prove to be a massive loss and we should have made more effort to replace him.

I think we've accepted we are a top 8 team that should challenge for a play off spot.

Jordan james is a good get. Carranza I feel will play about as much as Eduoard did. Ramsey is a wild card.

We now have 2 promising attacking players who could be amazing or who could pick up niggly injuries after bad injuries last year.

Weve improved the PSR situation which had to be the main aim. Based on that im willing to readjust my expectations this season.

Injury dependent I would expect anywhere from 4th to 10th.

No issues with us trying to restabalise the clubs finances. Got a very likeable gaffer and hopefully we have a very likeable squad by the end of the year.

I think Ramsey could be an improvement over BEK at 10 if he stays fit. I am not saying that Ramsey is potentially a better player, only that BEK was more of an 8 playing at 10, whereas Ramsey is an out and out 10 and, if fit, is a very good 10.

To help in comparing this window to last summer we should remember we have just brought in Jordan James on loan with an option of 5m Euros to replace a player we paid £20m+ for last summer!

Last time I checked, we were in a different division.

In context of our situation I would say 6/10.  We have steadied the PSR ship and have focused on youth and up and coming players rather then Premier League Experience.

There's still some shite left in the squad but you can only sell what people want to buy so we have to make the best of them.

All told it feels like a step in the right direction even if it's only a small step.

We haven’t got rid of the big wages or big egos though, all the worst swamp dwellers are still here stinking the place out.
