Given that the rules are what they are, and Ramsey knows that, it's beyond stupid from him. If you want to take a man out to stop a counter attack (because winning the ball was never on the cards there), you've got to slide and stay on the ground.

This match has been infuriating bad though.

 

Fatawu, Skipp and Soumare have been horrendous.

 

The defence has no protection from the midfield.

 

Ramsey didn’t really do a lot, so people having pops at him are being harsh. Never a red. You see those challenges frequently. The Oxford player reaction is what got him sent off. The players should watch that at half time and use that to ignite them and actually respond.

Either the manager thinks they are good enough, playing how he wants or they aren’t listening to how the manager wants them to play.

 

This style of football and lack of ability by the selected players is beyond defending.
