This will be the biggest cup upset ever in terms of position of the respective teams.

And the first holders to go out to a non-league side in over 100 years.

I was just going to ask about this.

And back then, it wasn't really the true definition of non-league as it was reckoned the Southern League was on a par with the Football League.

Sunderland with a strong team away to Everton, its the way to do it. No chance of relegation and no European football, no excuse not to go for it in the cup.

The last team to do it was Palace. Against Wolves, 1908/09.

I've been looking into it as well.

It's tricky because of the way the league pyramid changes quite often, but there definitely doesn't seem to be other definitive examples that are bigger in terms of division or league places gap.

Smashed the Shrews 6-1. We've definitely improved recently but hard to judge anything today as they have really been struggling in L2.

No excuse for Palace against a non-league side though.

Some had it down as a potential shock too .

Of course that was always going to go in.  Please don't ruin this day palace.

Think that is it!

Get in, a lot of those fans would have seen the original club fold to this, thrilled for them

Love to see it!

Macclesfield completely deserved it.

Rooney getting emotional for his kid bro is beautiful to see. He might like to pay for women twice his age, but he's a proper footballing man.
