You’re thinking of Vassell at Cov. Wasn’t his debut but first game of the season when we basically had a brand new squad.

Oh sorry forgot the documents were received 14 seconds after the deadline!

Ironically the best football Silva played for us was his brief cameo for his debut lol, which was probably about 14 minutes

nah, his debut was v Blackpool in the cup where he did nothing. Scored an own goal about 6 weeks later v Ipswich, then about another 6 weeks to score his first goal at the right end

Not a single one and he played in a side that had a great season, by and large.

We'd lost 5-2 at Brighton the game before, just before the international break. He'd signed on the 1st but wasn't in the squad for the 4th Sept.

He actually helped us turn it around big time after that - 16/24 points and 6/8 clean sheets... until it all went wrong again lol

McGivern was terrible but he only played 12 games and some of those we achieved clean sheets, his debut at Palace for example.

Remember that away end very well, shame they don’t let away supporters fill it anymore which is odd considering the Chavs are still yet to fill that ground. 
 

Sven played a diamond and Gelson Fernandes looked unreal, fair to say he didn’t back it up after that.

The season before he joined us my dad moved to Northampton and we would go down to a fair few games. I was so excited when we signed him lol

If memory serves (unlikely) it was technically Svens first league game in charge too?

I remember being up the top of that stand in Cov, looking out a semi empty stadium... wacthing Vassell rocket down the wing and score... thinking... this is going to be the greatest season ever :)

Or ive made it all up?

Edit.. yep made it up.... He charged down the wing choppod somone at the knee and was sent of lololol... also was Kasper's first game :)

I think this was the debut of Wout Faes

 

 

 

Dublin got sent off after 17 minutes against West Ham in 2004.

 

For me, the funniest Worst Debut ever is Messi for Argentina. Sent off after 3 minutes after coming on as a sub!

What about the original Ricardo? I don’t specifically remember his debut, but he had a crap time here, so can’t imagine his debut was any good

Quite clearly nobody saw Marhez's against Man U's second string. He was hopeless, couldn't control the ball, when somehow he manged to get to the ball he couldn't do anything with it, seemed totally out of tune with the rest of the team and in the second half when he went looking for the ball he was virtually tripping over it. What a horror show that night was. Topped off by Conrad carrying the ball out the penalty area and giving away a free kick which lead to the only goal of the game. Came away think we had paid way to much, shows how wrong you can be.
