Pressing didn't happen today agreed, but entire system today seemed pretty apparent to put the wingers in 1 on 1 positions or chances to run at their fullback.

Problem is, Coventry saw this a mile away and quite often nullified Fatawu and Mavididi, and we just didn't offer them much support. Fatawu looked dangerous at times, but Cov often kept him quiet.

Poor finishing cost us, still baffled with Marti's love fest with Soumare, he's generally slow and clumsy on the ball and apart from the very occasional run forward with the ball his forte is the 3 yard pass !

Must have watched a different game, didn't think Cov were upto much at all.

Some finishing at any standard above that of sunday league and thats a 3 nil win.

Disrespectful to Sunday league tbh. You’d expect Alliance league strikers to finish that Mavididi chance on a bobbly pitch on Vicky Park.

They did, hence the delaying deliveries outside. Fatawu had numerous opportunities against his fullback, Mavididi just didn't seem to be at it again

what players do we have that CAN press?

Daka, Page showed that was possibly his biggest attribute yet doesn’t even make the bench.

Abdul has the work rate to do this, Stephy if someone has a word and he’s not sulking.

Apparently Carranza is a good presser too.

Ayew up top will always prevent a collective press, hate to say it but similarly like Vardy the past season or two.

Neither Carranza or Daka have been properly tried yet. You can’t see it because Ayew changes the complete dynamic of the team when he plays.

I mean he spent more time in our own half than he did up front, you’re never going to score goals if you’re doing that.

Regardless of his desire to fight for the ball, he seriously harms the offensive part of our game. If we played an actual striker, our more creative players will have a chance to attacking players to actually gain momentum and create more chances.

Ayew is a major problem for us.

People don’t seem to understand that he’s not the worst performer in the team, but he’s one the biggest problems in terms of team performance.

No pace, no physicality and doesn’t take up a natural position for a number nine. That affects the whole team.

Marti seems to love him. So he needs to find him a place somewhere else in the X1. If it were up to me he’d be on the bench as I think his biggest use is after 70 minutes when he can hold the ball up and fall over a bit

Mavididi terrible terrible miss.

Soumare is sh2t.

Faes n Vesty would have conceded goals today up against any decent strikers.

Hamza was brain dead when he came on, utterly dumb.

Fatawu and Monga only sparks that can trigger an attack and get the crowd going.

Most others were 6s or 7s.

Cov huffed and puffed but again like Brum, plenty of pre match build up and hoe good they are going to be but they were pretty sh1te.

This league really is crap.

To be fair we limited coventry to half chances the best chance was wright's header which was offside anyway and a deflected pass to what wright put wide faes had a good game

Rubbish. They were completely untroubled today, and both looked good today.

🤣🤣You must have been asleep when they had their usual " Faes and Vesty moments"

But to be fair they could both play like prime Maldini and I will still not say that as i don't like them!!

Fatawu wasn't really nullified he beat Dasilva on numerous occasions

First half he had him on toast everytime we just never had any one in the middle to capitalise. Second half he wasn’t anywhere near as effective I thought

Feels like a defeat. Some laughable finishing from our boys.

If Soumare and Mavididi start the next game, then I give up.

If that feels like a defeat god help you for the rest of this season

Im not a fan of Veste or Faes but they were quite composed and they were up against a very decent striker in Haji Wright today. 5 in a row today and he found it very difficult.

About fell asleep for a period. We were decent from 46 to 80 and our slow start was afforded to us being shit rather than them being good

Be plenty of games like that I'm afraid in this sh1t league.

Frustrating performance that. Just absolutely ****ing wazz in the final third.

Ayew just isn’t the answer up top. Saw enough from Carranza to think he should probably just start. It can’t get much worse.

They doubled up on and neutralised Fatawu in the second half after he rinsed their little left back about 10 times. Mav offered little and we were ineffective down the left until Monga came on.

Whether you like them or not, Faes, Jannik and Winks are a cut above this level TBF.
