90% of people on here should be coming out admitting they were humbled by the decision to not sack Rodgers

I’d have considered a lot on here to be early adopters.

My hot take was that we should, under no circumstances, sell Fofana. Thought he was going to go on to become the best centre half in the world and move to Real Madrid for 150mil.

Brilliant bit of business by the club in hindsight.

When you re-watch clips of him for us at his peak, he was a joke! Haven't seen a defender like that for us basically ever..but yeah his knees are utterly finished so we managed to jump on getting max value at the best possible moment.

I thought we'd be alright replacing Kasper with Danny Ward. I think this alone constitutes to me being banned from all football related conversations going forward.

Mods feel free to delete my account, I had a good run.

On a similar note, when we signed Zieler I thought he could overtake Kasper as number 1!

But also, when we signed Demarai Gray, i thought he'd be with us for maybe 18 months if we were lucky but he'd end up at a "Big 6" club and playing regularly for England...

Beckford being a decent signing, I'm sure we spent something like £7million on him from Everton. They must have been laughing their heads off.

At the time thought it was key signing that would get us the goals to get us promoted but it was a panic buy, as we missed out on Nicky Maynard and we spent a lot of money on a striker that actually never played in the championship and set mainly on the bench for Everton the last two seasons. There was a lot of dodgy buys that summer.

I try not to get over-excited any more when I've actually heard of a player we've signed, as it generally has meant they're past it.

Coady, Keown, N'Gotty, Upson, Johansson, Howey, Wise, Decordova-Reid, Bennett, Dublin, Vassell, Fenton...

There are exceptions of course (Huth, Evans, Cottee) and I know every signing is a gamble, but our record signing "experienced pros" feels poor at best.

Graham Fenton was 23 when we signed him lol

Yep, Fenton the flop! Surprising as he was a relatively young age when signing for us and looked good to get goals aplenty for us, given how he was at Blackburn beforehand.

On the flipside I thought everything was going to fall apart under Rodgers in 20/21 after the how the previous season ended but we managed to get another good season and an FA cup before the wheels truly started falling off.

Correct, this is permaban behaviour, but I seem to remember you were very much not alone. I recall half of Foxestalk wanting Ward to replace Kasper.

I was gutted we missed out on Slimani when linked during our great escape season. Was really happy when we did sign him...

In fairness he may have performed better as a focal point, in the way that Ulloa did for us, that season. Fella had a cracking header in him..

Character wise though, I'd take Leonardo over him in hindsight every day of the week. Plus less annoying Algerian keyboard fans. lol

£2.5m

Still at the time was a decent amount for a Championship club to be paying for a striker.

was it only that much... still £2.5 million too much. Alot of players joined us in that calendar that never really wanted come... they were hooked by the £££ I think we were offering stupid wages at the time. Matt Mills certainly too add to this catagory, I thought at the time he was best defender the championship signs for us... wow he was so bad, Pearson clearly didn't think much of him don't think he even played again after like February. Was sold again in the summer to Bolton, admitted in a few interviews since he didn't really want to come sort of forced out by Reading due to the huge transfer offer they received, £5 million some quoted we spent.

I've said this before, I thought Peter Taylor was going to be an amazing manager for us. He was a former England U21 manager so I saw the best young talent fromaround Europe coming to Leicester. Instead we got Junior Lewis. I still wonder what he had on Taylor!

Started off well and seemed ideal replacement to MON. However as time went on, he got found out. First few months he kept things the same, then brought his own ideas to the table, went from being league cup winners, top eight finishes in 2000 to relegation in two years.
