I thought Iheanacho would set records in the Championship. Thought we’d probably be fine after appointing RVN too.

Really thought after the WHU and Brighton games we'd be absolutely fine.

He really wasn't. I remember some of the anger at this non league footballer who'd cost us a fortune for that kind of gamble, and he don't do anything right.

It's why I always cringe at the instant criticism of new players on here who've not yet found their feet...

Mahrez too.

Coming back from 2-0 down against Brighton despite being the worst side felt like we’d turned a corner.

We followed it up with a 4-0 loss at Newcastle (Ward) and the Wolves 3-0 loss (Ward).

I apportion so much of last season’s failure to Cooper but RVN had a bounce and the players on board initially

When Kevin Poole picked up the ball outside the box against Everton thinking he had a free kick, and the referee gave handball, the Everton player lobbed it over Poole and into the net. Mind blowing on all counts.

I remember going on a bit of a rant when we let Sidnei Tavares go.

"Just shows we can't hold of our best talent" etc.

Having now secured Monga's signature, I wasn't only wrong about Tavares (who's gash), but the bit about us not keeping our best too.

I thought we'd be alright replacing Kasper with Danny Ward. I think this alone constitutes to me being banned from all football related conversations going forward.

Mods feel free to delete my account, I had a good run.

It's ok to admit - I was somewhat in the same camp after he'd put in some decent performances in cup cameos, particularly his knack for bossing penalty shootouts.

Quickly became apparent that anyone can luck out and look good in the 12-yard lottery of a shoot-out after shutting out lower league opposition. Quite simply the worst to ever appear between the sticks, and I include Ricardo and Kalac in that equation. Knowing we paid Liverpool decent money for the fella just makes his time with us even worse.

I've had some absolute shockers but for every Tete and Daka i've made predictions like Arne Slot being an elite coach several years ago. Throw enough shit and it'll eventually stick 🤪

Tete on the face of it should have been a good signing, pretty good numbers everywhere he'd been but he was just inexplicably shit. Never really started more than about 15 games in a season so maybe he's just a dosser.

A few have mentioned it, but I thought that Wes Morgan was a completely unnecessary signing at the time. I do, however, recall an online argument a year or two later with a Forest fan who was very insistent that Jack Hobbs was a far superior player.

I also recall being very concerned when Ben Marshall was sold.

I suppose the Nigel Pearson and MON eras were similar in the fact that there were numerous signings that didn’t look anything on paper, but turned out to be gems. MON had the likes of Cottee, Marshall, Guppy, Izzett etc. who far exceeded expectations

Was pretty supportive of Puels “vision” at the time

I know that squad pushed on but it’s pretty clear looking back we were severely underperforming under him
