I hope that's true as it would be an indication that he knows he's being sacked.

Why are people expecting him to be sacked when the club is struggling a bit and trying to tighten its purse?

You can’t tighten your purse if you are getting pounded for 90 mins each Saturday.

well if performances havent been there for 90% of the seasons then of course there are going to be calls for him to go

the last 3 games before today massively papered over the cracks

But there's no guarantee, should he go, that his successor will improve the current situation.

It was a bad joke. I’d agree, realistically I think the club expects a mid table season and will try to ride it out. We have seen this before though.

so we should stick with a manager whos frankly been woeful for 90% of the season?

we've had 5/6 good half this season out of 22 games, how is that acceptable?

3 of the last 6 games weve been at least 3 down at HT,

Acceptable?

We did it with Cooper even though we couldn’t afford it.  Top & Rudders have previous for gambling to try and achieve certain goals so I reckon they wlll twist in the hope someone new can get a tune and somehow get us in contention for the play offs and promotion.

I reckon Marti’s pay off will be fairly low

Have a feeling it might not be, given he reportedly literally paid own money to come to the club - let alone paying his other staff off.

Ruud must have knew he was being sacked for 20 weeks then

The difference being that Cifuentes made a big thing of connecting with the fans which Ruud never did.

Being such a diabolically shit coach he’s managed to convince a lot of fans our squad isn’t good. It’s not great, but **** me it’s good enough to be playing a lot better than we are.

I agree,

I feel that someone just a smidge better could and would get a tune out of this shower of sh1t of a squad.

Just a 20% improvement would be enough to see us safe, as this league is so cr@p, but it's consistency we desperately need as well, which under Marti we just don't have and it pains me to say it won't achieve.

Marti has shown us he's well and truly out of his depth in all aspects of the role, from team selections, tactics and playing style, to his questionable in game management.

The problem is actually identifing who the 20% of improvement manager we sorely need is, personally I haven't the foggiest.

Should we move him on? Most definitely.

Can we afford too (financially) no idea, but if we can't then just put him on gardening leave.

We have to pay him his wage if he continues in the role, so the money is there for that, but we have to get his influence, incompetence and involvement away from the club as a matter of urgency....

Under that logic we should have just stuck with Frank McLintock forever.

Say it louder! I’ve been saying this all season. Give this squad to at least a decent manager and we’d see different results. This bloke is a clown, I said it months ago and not changed my mind on him.

It would also presumably rule out ever signing any players because e.g. there's no guarantee that a new left back or centre back will be an improvement on Thomas or Faes, there's no guarantee that if we send Carranza back and get another loan in they'll be any better and so on. Same goes for a new director of football, chief exec, owner - everyone currently at the club really needs to stay here at least until the end of their contract but ideally until they retire or expire, because their replacements could be the same or worse.

Not making changes when things are bad because you can't be absolutely 100% certain they'll get better as a result seems like a good way of making sure things don't get better.

Of the 22 games in the league so far we’ve only really been comfortably the better side what, 3..maybe 4 times?

He HAS to go.

We are lucky to be 13th. Could easily be 20th and then 22nd with 6 points taken off us.

He has now overtaken Puel as well as Pooper and Ruud, for me.

Major change won’t happen for the better while Top and Rudkin are here but on the pitch with the players we’ve got we should have more points and be playing better, simple.

Get rid.

Can't recall any full 90s where I've felt like we have performed.

Unless you're in the bottom 3, I would think every other side has felt like they've pulled one of them out the bag and 100% deserved to win.

We've managed to put together strong 45s or 60s, but to be in December and not feel like you've deserved to win a game outright based on an all-round 8/9 out of 10 performance is shite.

I'm not saying it's an expectation either. But just once every now and then would be nice!
